Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Kettering

We were looking forward to stopping at Rita’s while we were in the area, as we don’t have one near by. When we arrived at 12:00, they were not open like their hours state. We proceeded to wait and a few minutes later an employee pulled into the parking lot and was let inside the building by someone else inside. Around 12:10 they finally opened the window blinds and turned on their open sign, so we got out the car and went to the window to order. There was an employee inside who looked towards us and then resumed to do things inside without helping us. We went back to the car and waited about 5 minutes before trying again. The employee was near the window when we walked up and made eye contact with us before walking away. We decided to leave after this attempt sadly. What a nice treat! Based on the recommendation of the girls working there I got then Italian ice with the custard on top. It was a great combo! I got the Swedish fish with vanilla. Tasty treat! I got the kiddie size which was pretty big! Husband got the small and that would have been too much for me. Only criticism is that the girls start closing the store before closing time. We got there on a rainy night and they only had the outdoor walk up open at 15min before closing time. They had the door locked to the store. So you had no choice but to order...

Great custard! 3 stars because their staff doesnt listen very well. I always get some sort of custard in a waffle bowl. The last time I went they gave me a cone and didnt give me any toppings I asked for. Tonight I asked for a waffle bowl and they gave me a regular plastic bowl. I still love their product, just wish they would listen better.
