Hobo’s Cafe Key Largo 4-29-25 We stopped by on a Tuesday night about 5pm. The place was not full and we got seated fast. Our waitress was very friendly and answered any question we had. Hobo’s interior was very clean and neatly laid out. The menu has just about something for everyone on it. I ordered the Hobo’s Blackened Fish Sandwich with Cole Slaw and a side of Clam Chowder. My wife ordered the Scallops wrapped with Crab Cake. My friend ordered the BBQ Wings and a Chef salad. The Clam Chowder and the Chef Salad was delivered fast, and all looked good. I took a taste of my Clam Chowder; it was hot and so good. It is the best Chowder I had since moving to Florida. My friends Chef Salad looked amazing and all items on the salad tasted fresh and crisp, it was big enough for three of us to split it and we still had some to take back to the Hotel with us. Our main orders came out quickly and they looked amazing. All the food was hot and very tasty. My Blackened Fish was very good as was the Coleslaw. The Scallops were good as well. Our friend stated the BBQ Wings were the best he ever had in state of Florida. Our friend got a piece of Key Lime Pie with a candle on it because it was his birthday. Even the Key Lime Pie was delicious. I loved this place and will stop by when we are in the keys. I am so glad we tried this place; you must stop by you will not be disappointed. Parking is easy and plentiful. They have an outside patio and will ask you where you want to sit when you arrive. I give Hobo’s a 5 out of 5 stars for the fast service, good food, tasty Key Lime Pie plus the best Clam Chowder in the Keys. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Follow Me On FB For More Reviews and...
Read moreThis restaurant is an absolute gem! We were going to try another restaurant but this one was recommended by an employee at the blonde giraffe (amazing key lime pie there). We were so happy that we decided to go here. The hostess was a girl with very light blonde curly hair. She was the nicest person!! Her customer service was above and beyond anything I’ve seen in a long time. She was so kind and courteous. She apologized for a five minute wait but seated us in two minutes and she went over the book where we could find the specials descriptions.
We ordered two appetizers and one entree to split. We got the key lime gator and the Island seafood sampler. Both of these appetizers came out first and we could taste everything was made in house. The sauces and the food was absolutely delicious! For the entree we ordered one of the specials which was another seafood combination in a spicy wine and butter sauce. It had fresh Mahi, shrimp, lobster and scallops. Everything in it was absolutely fantastic. I usually always take pictures of my food but we were so hungry and the food was so good that we just dug right in. Our waiter seemed a little new but he was doing a good job and keeping up with everyone. My boyfriend’s soda tasted like the syrup was out and he waived down a busser. The busser fixed it immediately and brought back a new soda that was perfect. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and looked like it would be a great date night location. All in all it was a 5 star experience with no complaints at all. Fantastic...
Read moreWhere to start..... We went to Hobos for lunch. The menu was good with some enticing choices. I ordered the catch of the day, which was mahi mahi, cooked in their signature style, with black beans and rice. The dish was priced at $36, which I feel is a reasonable price for a high end lunch choice. As we waited for our food, we couldn't help but notice the ambiance of the restaurant was loud and not very intimate. It was more like a breakfast diner. I guess the menu does not match the atmosphere. My meal came and it looked delicious! Now, I like beans and rice, so I dug right into the plate of black beans and rice with a really tasty gravy like sauce on them. They would have been top notch if they had been hot. The beans had obviously been spooned onto the rice directly from the refrigerator, and then covered in a cold sauce, and microwaved. Personally, I don't feel there is a place for a microwave in a kitchen that is serving $36 lunch items. The fish was well cooked, hot and tasty. The server was busy, but never checked on us after we got our food for me to send the beans back, hence the three stars for mediocre service. I'll not be dining at...
