I went there with 3 friends a few days ago. The Key Lime French toast was fantastic as was most of the food. The atmosphere was cute as well. But the service was awful for most of our experience there.
From the beginning our waitress was very dismissive of us. Any time we asked a question she gave us a look like we were bothering her. At first I thought she was having a bad day so I went out of my way to be kind and nice to her.
My friend told her he wanted a drink and she said, "what do you want?", then he said "what do you have?" She again said what do you want. He asked for the menu and she responded with "the drinks aren't there". Like what? That's not hospitality.
Someone in our party ordered a steak medium well and when it came it was very bloody. He asked her nicely to put it back on the grill and she looked like she wanted to say, "are you serious? It's fine!" but then reluctantly took it to put it back on the grill but her face was so bitter and bothered. Again. Not how you do customer service.
When one of us was done eating she saw that he had a pancake still and grabbed his fork and proceeded to force him to eat the last bite. It wasn't playful or funny, given that we all felt very unwelcomed there.
We were three gay folks, and 3 Latino folks with accents. We thought maybe she was homophobic or maybe didn't like Latinos because as we were looking around at how she was treating other people, she was kind, welcoming and full of patience. But not with us. We left there feeling a bit angry that we were treated like that and will not be back.
Every customer deserves to be treated with respect and kindness, regardless of their race, sexuality, color or accent. We were not. Y'all need to do better and have a talk with Debbie about how she treats...
Read moreNow I have been here many times and the breakfast is always good. We do the standard. This time I was appalled by our waitress behavior. My husband asked the girl who was seating us about the time it takes to get your food. She said about 20 minutes. That was doable, she told our waitress who proceeded to roll her eyes and wait on 3 tables before us and then had the audacity to talk to the table in front of us because we were getting on a boat and how dare us ask to for fast service. She was so rude then acted as if she tried saying 50 tickets after already serving food to the folks that came in after us. If your mad at the world then stay home. No one deserves your terrible service and attitude. You did it on purpose and acted like a teenager talking to the other table covering your mouth. I will thank the young lady working the door because she did follow up with us and even tried to get our food and you only got more aggravated. So you know who u are and we won't be back. Maybe you should just retire so you don't stop more patrons from visiting. She wasn't worth the...
Read more“Harpoon Harry’s is the ultimate breakfast and lunch spot in Key West, Florida. We decided to take a break from our usual weekend breakfast restaurants and give Harpoon Harry’s a try, and it exceeded our expectations.
As a chef, I couldn't help but notice how impeccably clean the diner was. The attention to detail in the decor, including the amazing artworks, added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided excellent service.
For breakfast, we ordered the corned beef hash with over-hard eggs and a toasted bagel, as well as a spinach omelette with freshly sliced tomatoes. The flavors were outstanding, and the tomatoes tasted as if they were freshly picked from a garden. We also enjoyed a refreshing coffee, mimosa, and a spicy Bloody Mary, or as the host called it, the 'Bloody Harry'.
Despite driving by this place many times over the years, I now understand why it's always busy. Harpoon Harry’s is absolutely fantastic and a must-visit for breakfast. I will definitely be returning. It was an absolutely fantastic...
