Ok where do I begin. I'll highlight the good first.
The pool was fun during the day, and nice little tiki bar conveniently located steps away. It's close to everything too. That's about it.
The bad: Never book the king bed rooms. One it has a super small air-conditioner away from the bed, high in the air blowing air no where near your sleeping area. Either by design or the ac was out, it was mesirable. We asked about the air conditioner 4 different times. The first hotel person said it did feel warm. He had the maintenance guy check it out. He did, all he did was put his hand by the unit, was like I can feel it. We're like we'll we don't feel it on us. He left. We grab food and drinks, hoping it would cool down, it never did. It was still hot. Told a different hotel desk clerk, who was clueless, he said he call the maintenance guy, it was 1130 pm. I checked 2 times over the next hour because we couldn't sleep at all. After originally telling us he was on his way, the front desk clerk is like, oh I can't get a hold of him tonight. So we had to sleep on the floor as a result, it was 90 outside and probably in the 80s in our room.
If that wasn't enough, never get a room by the pool. From 1100 pm to about 1230 at night people were loud, smoking, partying it up. Might I add it does say 1000 pm is quiet time, and if you are in the pool past you are to be quiet, you know for consideration of others. I spoke to everyone outside asked them nicely, to be quiet, that lasted a minute. I went to the same front desk clerk, complained about people smoking and partying. He said be quiet. That didn't work. I came back two more times, then finally 90 minutes later he finally kicked them out of the pool area. Then around 1 we got to sleep on the floor because it was the coolest part of the room.
Overall it was a horrible experience. Rooms are overpriced especially with no working AC, the front desk clerks, particularly the one on the night we stayed, was rude, non attentive, didn't care much for our reasonable requests..like it midnight, do your job and tell everyone to go back to there rooms, this isn't spring break.
So if you want loud partying people outside your room till late hours, hot rooms and staff who aren't attentive, or do there job them stay here, otherwise stay far away.
It should be noted, that management did issue refund for our second night, we left early and drove to Miami the next day and partial refund for the first night. If they had better training of staff, and did maintenance checks on all the air-conditioning units, plus enforce reasonable rules (it says no smoking and 1000 pm is quiet), we probably would have loved our stay. But it ruined our trip, cut it short and we flee from Wisconsin and drove from Tampa to Key West, so yeah very...
Read moreAt $150 give or take a night it was a decent place to stay although the private room is one of their smallest rooms 20x30ft . This booking was made on Hotel Tonight and there was no information about the room size or what was included in the room although just be aware and getting the private room means you get a bed a small room a shower and toilet private to yourself which is nice. Other rooms in this hotel do “not” have their own shower or their own bathroom and you need to walk into the hallway in order to use the bathroom or shower which is used by other people staying in the hotel. Some of their other rooms do come with a small refrigerator and microwave a shower and bathroom along with a bed and window shaker. The pool was very nice and they do offer a lot of different children’s toys and pool type toys along with floats and an array of sun screen your free to use . *BEWARE in the morning you will be woken up by a rooster 630-715 am . They start cleaning the furnace is quite early along with the pool and things like that everything is definitely kept very nicely and it seems like maintenance staff is constantly on the walk. The people who did room service seems to be nice although they were dressed and very much whatever outfit they decided on and there was no uniform. The staff at the front desk was very pleasant and accommodating. Yes they generally say parking is free although be where there are only about eight parking spots that are actually on the property and they fill up extremely quickly. If you don’t find parking in the small parking lot located on the side of the building and I show this in the pictures then you will need to park in the street in a non-residential spot if you can find one, that means you could drive around the entire block and park on the opposite side of the building!! While staying in the room it was noticed that the window blinds did not produce lots of light coming through at night. There are lights with in the garden inn near the pool that do not turn off at night and I had to cover the windows with sheets and things like that in order to get it dark enough. The room I stayed in was directly off of the pool area near the water fountain this might not be the same case scenario for other rooms upstairs there was also a window over the top of the shower that lead to the inside of the building and that also had lots of light come through at night. to walk to the sunset at Mallory Square it will take about 20 minutes to walk there at a...

Despite initial reservations prompted by varying reviews, the hotel's unique blend of affordability and prime location set it apart. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in the warm hospitality of the Eden House. A friendly young man at the reception greeted us with a refreshing welcome drink and personally escorted us to our room. As we leisurely explored the meticulously maintained grounds, we were captivated by the attention to detail, which added to the charm of this historic establishment. Our cozy King Room 103 provided all the essentials for a comfortable stay, including a generously sized shower with optimal water pressure – a rare find in the Keys. While a faint, musty smell lingered due to the building's age and Florida's humid climate, it was easily remedied with a store-bought air freshener, a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme. We took advantage of the hotel's amenities, particularly enjoying the lively atmosphere during the pool happy hour. The bartender, whose name eludes me but whose exceptional service added to the fun with her delightful personality. Renting bikes from the lobby was a highlight of our trip, allowing us to explore the island in a new and exciting way. Evenings spent on the lobby porch, immersed in the art of people-watching, were a testament to the laid-back charm of the Keys. However, witnessing guests being unreasonably rude to the staff, as in the infamous "Karen" transaction, was disheartening. In such a serene environment, complaints seemed out of place – a sentiment echoed by my friend, who marveled at the thoughtful gesture of finding his clothes neatly folded upon returning to his room. These small acts of kindness, coupled with the dedication of the staff, made our experience at the Eden House genuinely memorable. In a world filled with chaos, it's crucial to appreciate the efforts of those who strive to make our lives brighter. So, to anyone considering a stay here,...
