If you enjoy B&B lodging then make sure, your next visit to Key West includes a stay at the Knowles House. This traditional Key West style home is located far enough from the strip for quiet peaceful evenings but close enough for a pleasant walk to view the sunset at Mallory Square. The owner, Les, disguises himself as the "pool guy" working very hard behind the scenes to make sure you want for nothing. All the while his front person Christina, charms you with her infectious smile, remembering your name and never forgets your favorite adult beverage which is supplied amply until you say uncle. In the morning they start you with a FULL breakfast spread, all day homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies at the ready and 4 - 7 pm cocktail of three kinds of wine and three different styles of beer. Their goal seems to be very clear, "for you to have the best experience possible" and for you to come back for more. The rooms are fully stocked with toiletries, fresh linens, towels and robes. The beds are so comfortable it's hard to roll out even if you retire early. Thank you Christina and staff, we will...
Read moreWe found this place after scouring the internet and came for the reviews and location. We were very happy with our stay. We enjoyed the small pool and patio tremendously. Pam and Christina were exceptional hosts making us feel very welcome and at home. Some reviews complain about place needing an update, I disagree, stay at a hotel! You are staying in a historic building, I believe it adds to the charm. The only thing needing improvements were the mattresses and A/C. Beds were not super comfortable, but not horrible. We were either freezing or hot with A/C. Our friends traveling with us stayed at Kimpton Place and were very jealous of our B&B! Owners even welcomed our friends to visit. At our friends' B&B they did not have a fridge, only received voucher to bakery for breakfast, no pool, no happy hour, very small rooms, water bottles provided, but have to walk across the street to office. We were very happy with our stay, would definitely recommend, and will be back definitely next time we are...
Read moreWe went to Key West over the Thanksgiving holiday to celebrate our 20th anniversary the day before the holiday. We could not have chosen a better place to stay. We had never stayed in a B&B before, and Knowles House may have spoiled us. The owners were friendly and welcoming and very helpful. After we booked, they emailed to welcome us and make contact, then had us call to make sure everything was ready to go. In addition, we asked them for suggestions for our anniversary dinner and for Thanksgiving and they were quick to respond with some great ideas. Our room (the Malibu) was spacious and comfortable. Everything was kept very clean. Breakfasts were hot and delicious with great coffee. The wine/beer happy hour from 4-6, as well as the dipping pool were great perks. The location cannot be beat...easy walking distance to so many things and only 1 block from the free bus! I cannot recommend Knowles House...
