Country Deli — Restaurant in Kill Devil Hills

I was sadly disappointed! Was looking for something great, but the manager & employees did not even say hello, can I help you or anything. I had to ask if I could ask a question. Then I asked the manager if they sold a Rueben sandwich.... he just pointed up to a chalkboard and said that everything we have up there, and he walked away. 2 kid employees were just playing on their phones by the cask register. And 1 other employee was preparing raw bacon & stacking cooked bacon(cross contamination). We felt as if no one there cared about us, or wanted to help us, serve us food, say hello, nor nothing!! I was shocked & so disappointed!! There wasn't even 1 customer on there. Not 1! Why couldn't they say something???,can I help you? Hello? Or something?!?

We walked out, and I will never go back. I even took,a pic of all the employees & the manager doing...

I've had a few sandwiches from here and all are great, but my favorite is "The Red Barron". The last time I ordered it, it was soggy by the time It got to my work. But what do you expect, its 95 degrees and the delivery driver had to sit in summer traffic for 6 miles to get it to me. I still ate it with a fork because its thats darn good. I ordered again today and asked for the bread on the side and they did a fantastic job of deconstructing the sandwich so I could eat it at my leisure at work. 3 pieces of rye toast, wrapped in foil, the corn-beef and cheese and krout wrapped in another piece of foil (still warm and melt-y) and the lettuce, tomato and turkey in the container with a cup of dressing, there was even a pickle! Bravo! I'll order it like this every time. It was wonderful to eat...

My Mr. and I were just down in KDH for the week. We wanted a really good sandwich and wanted it delivered. So I Googled sandwich delivery near me. Well, was very happy to see Jersey Mikes! When I went into the site to place my order, it said no delivery. Ok, fine. So I went back to Google. Did some research. Came across County Deli. Looked at the menu and reviews. OMG! I am sooooo glad Jersey Mike's did not deliver. My husband said it had to be the best sandwich he has ever had in his 50 years on this earth! And everyone was so nice! We also got pasta salad and some pineapple upside down cake. Just as fabulous as the sandwiches. I swear I would not hesitate to drive the 2 hours from Va. just to get a sandwich. Just make a day of it. Y'all are...
