Father And Son's — Restaurant in Killeen

Sadly I hate to be writing this review but after our experience I can’t help but not. My husband and I went in a few days ago and tried out a pound of their crawfish. It was so good!! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. We went back in today and got 5lbs and it was not the same. The crawfish were completely mushy. They had been dead for a while, the tails weren’t curled. My family boiled over 1,000 lbs last year and we have already done 200 lbs this year. We are no stranger to how crawfish is cooked or what happens when they are bad. We called the restaurant explaining what happened and they stated they could re-make it which we declined because the crawfish was obviously bad. They said they do not do refunds but we could come in and get something else of the same cost. When we went in a older lady whom was the manager immediately had a major attitude with us and was clearly frustrated. Understandable, but we did not entice this nor is it deserving of a customer. As we we were looking at the menu she said that she would just refund our money which we were thankful for. She then asked if it was our first time which we explained that it was not. She then continued to have an attitude and be passive aggressive. To which I brought it to her attention that I did not appreciate how she was speaking to us. This is a hit and miss type of restaurant. I ordered a large seafood Gumbo, it was really good!! However, I called in for the order and had waited well over a half hour for the food once I arrived (this was a few weeks ago). Today, I ordered a pot roast meal and the roast wasn't tender as it looks in the videos, the Mac & Cheese had NO Cheese/seasoning and didn't look like it does in the videos, the only good thing was the mashed potatoes. Usually they open up the plate before you leave with it but today I believe they knew it wasn't quality so they didn't and I didn't care to look before leaving the store and I should have. I don't care what others experience are with the pot roast, my experience was bad, the pot roast was hard, let me make that clear, I highly doubt it was cooked even 5 hours and the Mac & Cheese was missing the cheese and it was burnt. You need stop coming here trying to take up for a poorly made dish, instead you need to apologize to the people that come and spend their hard earned money with you guys when they experience bad quality. I wish there was a way to rate in negative stars. My first visit to this restaurant was ok. We arrived aproximately 30 minutes before closing. Most of what we wanted they were out of...so we got what they did have. We waited for our items to be made and packaged. Once i got outside, I noticed I was missing an item I purchased. I went back in to tell "JJ" and he said they forgot to make it. He said if I come back he will make sure I got it. I left our names and phone numbers(mine and my husbands) at the counter along with our order and the date. "JJ" assured me he would remember. Today we went back to get our item to which, "JJ" didnt remember at first and then said we should have came back the next day. My husband asked for the manager/ownwe to explain the situation and he was told the manager is never there. It may seem minimal for some but I believe people should get what you pay for and if you tell someone something you should be held accountable for your word. I am out of my money and my item.
