My family and I went to celebrate a graduation. We chose pho 9 to eat at for the first time. Food was good, service was ok but our bill was questionable. When people eat pho, the main condiments are normally, basil, mung beans, jalapeño, onions, hoisin sauce, chili oil, garlic chili, sriracha and some people put fish sauce. Well… everything but the garlic chili and chili oil was on the table of condiments. So as we got our food, we asked for the chili oil and garlic chili. We ate, we were satisfied and now to pay the bill. We were charged for limes, jalapeños and 4 chili oils, all at a dollar each. We question the young girl and without hesitation, she didn’t show no remorse or empathy. She was over talking me saying that we charge for extra. I get it, charge the extra but we did not order anything extra. All the times that we were being charged for are items that are supposed to be on the table with all the other condiments that go with pho. Now going back and forth another guy steps in and tells me the reason why they charge for chili oil is because they make it in house lol… I started laughing and told him, even better, now yal can save money on the chili oil but yal still want to charge your Customers for an ingredient is supposed to already be complimentary for pho. This was the first time I’ve visited, and will Most definitely be the last time. By far the most ridiculous reasons why they charge for ingredients that supposed to...
Read moreI’m Vietnamese and moved here last year from Denver, which has a big Vietnamese population and pho restaurants on every street. I did have pretty high expectations given my experiences in Denver and being used to traditional Vietnamese food created by my parents and grandparents who immigrated from Vietnam. Here are some comments...
Pros: -Waitress was nice, a little kooky -Food and drinks came out in a timely manner -Food presentation was nice -Food was pretty good for being served in a restaurant that isn’t in a larger city with a larger Vietnamese population such as Houston or Austin
Cons: -The restaurant had a weird oily smell; typically a sign of roach infestation -There was a thick, coarse hair in my food -We ordered the Com Dac Biet (Specialty Rice Plate), and it was way different than what we’re used to in Denver. There were no egg rolls. No grilled beef. No cilantro... It is an insult to miss these things! -$14 for a plate? A Com Dac Biet in Denver is $9. Outrageous... Supply and demand I guess? -Avocado smoothie was made from the powder, not fresh avocado like I’m used to -Nuoc mam (fish sauce) was thick and too salty... we typically like to have a sweeter dipping sauce made with lime and coco carbonated juice
Overall, it was a decent experience. But nothing beats a homemade Vietnamese meal. We are also planning to visit Vietnam one of these days to see some deeper...
Read moreWould never recommend. Me and my girlfriend went here to eat today. The little girl with blonde and black hair had an attitude from the moment we walked in. Our cups and water was rudely placed on the table like we inconveniencing her. After that she walked away. Then came back and just stared at us. I asked her to give a few minutes for us to look over the menu. She walked away with an attitude and said something under her breath. We flagged her down to place an order, I asked if the cury was spicy or sweet on one of the dishes. She said didn't know and just stared at me for a second. Then she was like would you like for me to find out? I replied, that would be nice. She returned with her stank attitude and was like it's sweet. I dont like sweet curry so I decided to change my order and apparently that bothered her too. After we placed our order she walked away with like we annoyed her. The best part is, while we waiting away this trick was giving me the bird from the register area. When I caught her in the act, she put her face and finger down quickly and refused to look up for a hot minute. Needless to say she didn't come bring us our food, she didn't come and check on us after our food was delivered, she didn't come to ask if our drinks need refilling, and she didn't bring us our check. I spoke with the manager on the way. We will never return and do...
