I ordered a medium rare NY Strip. It was burnt on the top side and not even seared on the other. It was well done on the burnt side and medium on the other. They obviously overcooked the steak on the first side and tried to save it hoping no one would notice. I've never complained about a meal or left a negative review in my life but this was so disappointing. I don't mind a slight char but this steak was so burnt that I could not eat it and it was nowhere close to what I ordered. When you pay $24 for a meal it should at least be edible. Our server never checked in with us until everyone was done eating (about 25 minutes later). I would understand if they were busy but the restaurant was NOT busy at this time. By this point I had no interest in waiting for a new meal as the rest of my party had finished eating and I just wanted to leave. I would be giving a 1 star rating except for the fact that the server took my meal off the bill and gave me a free dessert as compensation. However, I never got an apology for my meal being ruined. I don't expect much from a chain restaurant, but at least at Olive Garden a manager usually comes by each table and asks if you enjoyed your meal. 99 showed no interest in customer satisfaction. I really hate to leave this kind of review because this restaurant used to be great years ago but has gone downhill. My family and I have been coming here for years. We absolutely loved it, so much that my little autistic sister decided to apply for a job and got hired! Well we didn’t realize how much of an awful experience she would have. Staff and managers treated her so different. Told her she was weird, constantly yelled at her instead of helping her. She would come home crying because she would get in trouble for wearing a cardigan but everyone else would be out of uniform so why was she the only one getting in trouble for it? I personally went to the restaurant while she was on shift to see what happens and sure enough, our waitress was being so mean to her in front of customers! I had to excuse myself because I was going to make a huge scene if I didn’t. I think she mentioned that there was one person who was nice to her and didn’t make her feel different and I wish I could thank that person.
