Carolina Pizzaria & Grill — Restaurant in Kinston

I have just had the worst customer experience with Carolina pizzeria and grill. I had been a faithful customer since Barney pizzeria was the name of the pizzaria and have loved the food. Today marks the end of my patronage. I called around 7 to place my order being I live about 30 mins away from the establishment, no one answered the phone due to being busy. Because I'm a faithful customer I know they are not busy often so didn't mind going to place my order and returning to pick it up. When I arrived to place my order at 7:30 PM, there was one party in the place, the woman took my order without issue, she went to get another woman to complete the transaction, the woman in a Hwy55 shirt was eating fries, licked her fingers, then proceeded to count my change. I asked her to use some hand sanitizer first as I didn't want me or any family member to interact with her saliva, think COVID-19, I also advised you never know where/what money has touched, hopefully she washed her hands afterwards... she was extremely polite and awesome at this point. I returned for my order at 8:09 PM because I was initially advised it would be 15-20 mins. I walk in and was not greeted at all waited 12 mins still no one or no greeting, so I went back to my car to wait for the order and confirm the time I ordered and closing time for the resident. At 8:22 I went back in and no staff was around just the same customers, every one was in the kitchen chatting. Me and three other customers same ones from 15 mind ago, were waiting for about 5 mins before I went looking for someone to assist. Once I did the woman that took my money while eating was yelling in the back, babe, baby, well why did she say I took her order I didn't take anything with her, extremely nasty attitude, I said that's alright just give me my money back. Then explained why I said she took my money, she responds, curtly, thanks for the play by play. just really nasty. The cook is yelling at me, that there is no order for me. I gave my receipt and waited 10 additional mins for him to return my funds because he kept telling me to calm down, insinuating I was irrational and irate, or a stereotype angry black woman. I then had to explain to him I was responding extremely calm considering I was mistreated, wasted my gas and time because of hostile employees that refused to get clarity or look for my order, then proceeded to insult me. not sure where the manager was but they were definitely not on site, because I've never seen these employees before or after so unprofessional. I will never support this place until new management gets this staff, and customer service on track. oh yeah and This place has not had a sanitation assessment in over a year and...

Went with my very picky eating nephews and was blown away by how good the food was. But before even getting the food, the customer service was exceptional. The gentleman at the register was very friendly and helpful with answering all my questions, being I had never been before. I ordered 1 cheese pizza, 1 pepperoni pizza, and the chicken Alfredo. The prices were also very modest for the amount of food received. Everyone loved their food, and we all had extra. When ordering the small pizza I expected it to be a little smaller, but it was actually a decent size. We even changed our order from a to go to staying in and dining there. I only regret not trying sooner. A must go for all pizza lovers and pasta lovers. I can't wait to go back and try some the subs offered. Husband and I wanted Italian, well I did and he went along. We ordered the Philly Style Steak and Cheese sub and the Shrimp Alfredo. All I can say is wow! The sub was so delicious, bread crunchy and you didn't have to look for the steak. That Shrimp Alfredo was hot, seasoned just right and ready to eat.
