Afghan Cuisine in Kirkland offers a warm and inviting setting to explore traditional Afghan flavors, though our experience had a mix of highs and lows. The standout of the lunch was the Chicken Kabob, which was exceptionally well-prepared. The chicken was tender, juicy, and infused with a rich blend of spices that elevated the dish beyond the ordinary. The Chicken Fillet was another highlight, flavorful, moist, and satisfying, making it a dish I would gladly order again.
For starters, we tried the Okra (Bamia) and Eggplant (Borani-Banjan), paired with Afghan bread. The bread was fresh and served as a nice base for the spreads, the appetizers themselves were pleasant but didnât quite deliver the boldness often expected from Afghan cuisine.
The Afghani rice, an essential accompaniment, was generously spiced and aromatic, but unfortunately too oily for our taste. Its heaviness slightly overshadowed the balance of the meal, though the seasoning was on point.
Overall, Afghan Cuisine provides hearty portions and authentic dishes, with the Chicken Kabob and Chicken Fillet standing out as must-try items. With refinement in some appetizers and lighter rice preparation, this spot could...
Read moreMy wife and I tried this place about 4 weeks ago for the first time and the food was excellent. We decided to have dinner again at Afghan Cuisine Saturday night 9/13. We arrived round 7 PM and were seated after about 10 minutes. The place was pretty packed. We ordered Tea, The Mantoo, Qabili Uzbeki, and the Shami Kabob. The problem is they had only one server servicing all the tables. It took over an hour for us to get our food, and we did not even get our tea until after they served us the food, and the only reason we finally got our tea, is because we had to remind them twice! My wife saw people at one of the tables, get up, place money on the table to pay for the drinks, and walked out of the restaurant before they got their food. On the positive side, the food was excellent, but I would not want to wait over an hour for tea or food. Not sure if the owner or manager is trying to cut cost or just is not very good at running a restaurant, but I hope they hire more staff to drastically improve...
Read moreAmazing Afghan restaurant! The Bellevue location we dearly miss, so happy they opened again on the Eastside. The food was absolutely deliciousârich flavors, perfectly cooked meats (we tried the chicken kabob, chopan, shami kabob, and lamb shank). The bolani is a must try, even better than before, fresh ingredients and not too spicy. The portions were very generous, making it a great value for the price. The location near the water adds to the charm, creating a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. On top of that, the staff including owners Mr. Ali and Tobi, were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for authentic Afghan cuisine! We will definitely be coming back. Lastly, one addition that Muslims will appreciate is they have a...
