I start by saying how disappointed I'm with all the food I ordered. I spent $177 on the Christmas food package and was excited to try this place since I only read good things about it, but let me tell you this is all hype up by their community but the reality is my honest opinion and from others that join me to eat this food. First of all how being a Puerto Rican food business owner you failed on doing a simple arroz con gandules? The rice was so bland, not even the color was right. Then the pernil, over salty. Cant eat a lot because you gonna be facing with high blood pressure issues, which I already suffer. Then el cuerito, it supposed to be golden brown and crispy, all I got was a soft skin yellow, eww. And my recommendation is if you do decide to buy this package don't ask or pay extra to have it shredded. Because I think they put left over pork from their hot line, I found that some pork pieces were tender and fresh while other was dry and stale like old. Finally the worst was the macaroni salad, it needs more mayo, flavor or something. Then after I finish tasting it got this weird taste and I smell it and it does smell like spoiled something. So at this point I don't wanna get sick and just throw away that salad.And the flan was good but at one point I felt like I was eating soup with the amount of caramel liquid you guys put. It over drained the flan, and it wasn't pleasant to eat after a while. But I gotta say maybe this place is only good on bakery items because I love their Sobao bread. And just a suggestion, I think you guys needs better presentation on catering and better pans and packaging. Those little container are not meant for that much food and it can easily break from being so heavy, and also it doesn't allow for the food to get all the flavor because you find some parts having better flavor than others. The amount of food needs to be spread out to also keeps better temperature. Also, I noticed my food wasn't cold or hot so that indicates not proper equipment were used to keep food on safety temp. It was like sitting on the counter for hours. Like the bread it wasn't hot like bravo and other places use hot boxes to keep it warm. I don't understand why you guys don't have one or don't use it. I know bread don't need to be hot or temp zone but it would be nice to get some warm bread after spending $177 on food...
Read moreI was excited to see that they had a location. In Orlando because I had been to the store in kississimme and loved it all!! Unfortunately not the same experience in Orlando! I stopped by bought 2 pieces of cake, cookies, bread and off I went . Got home which is an hour away and my husband and I tried the red velvet cake with cheesecake and it was inedible cookies other pastries all the same the were all horrible and hard like they had been sitting there for days!! Next morning I called to relay this to them and they said " I don't speak English and they hung up on me ..So I called the kississimme location in hopes they could help me I got Carla who spoke some English she took my info and she said she would call me back in 30 minutes so I waited awhile called back and she was gone and once again no one spoke English! So I called back the next day and she said I had to speak to Wendy so I called the Orlando store Wendy isn't there. So today I call and finally get Wendy she told me to come in with my reciept I said how late will you be there til and she says I don't know lol...so had my son take me for the hour drive and got to the store of corse no Wendy thank god this sweet girl spoke English (she actually helped me the day I was in) and she said Wendy had left already. So I brought my reciept in and explained it to her and she spoke to the mod and translated called Wendy said I could get store credit I said I don't want a store credit I would like you to credit my card back ...told them I had everything in the car to return but didn't want to bring it in for other customers to see. So back and forth for 30 minutes no exchange no credit the owner said to tell me you should of checked it before you left. Really what kind of customer service is that!! But as I looked in the case I'm seeing not one thing has dates on them when it was made when it should be thrown away ect. They have no way of knowing that's why my stuff tasted like crap!!! Being in the restaurant business for 22 years you stand behind your product and if someone doesn't like it you give credit exchange it or do something to accommodate the customer!! Read moreMy wife has been wanting to try this place out to a wile and we decided today to stop in what a mistake. 1st thing I notice some employee were not friendly at all ask few questions about there food and there response was by walking away and talking several times I had to repeat myself over the same question for them to respond. Once we received our food And walked over the table and sat down to eat noticed the food was barely warmed like almost cold I did got up and spoke to the cashier and related The concern and she did not have any problems helping me Happen to be that one of the managers by the name of Diana got involved and made everything even more unpleasant She asked what happened we stated The issue and she asked us if we had touched the food and obviously we did because we had tried them and noticed the food was cold and just Because of that, she went and refused to issue A refund because we had tried the food, please note when we say we try it was one scoop. The other manager that was there that was helping us at first was very polite and pushed and said that yes we were getting the refund and made Diana give us the refund at this point Diana was in denial stating no cause we had touch the food. With that said it makes me think that if that was the case they probably would of put the food back on Tray and re sell it. Diana was making faces and rolling her eyes while we got the refund very unethical by a manager or anyone running a business to carry yourself the way she did.
