I live in Kissimmee, so I will admit that I've passed this restaurant many times on 192, and always promised myself that I would check it out someday. (I can always go for some bratwurst and beer, and it had been years since I had any sort of schnitzel which I love 😋) But this past Sunday (1/28) was finally that'someday' so my husband and I went there to try it out because we were hungry. First of all, our server Kyle was great (he introduced himself as 'Kyle with a smile') We started off with an appetizer - a huge fresh Bavarian pretzel, with the most delicious house-made sauces (beer cheese and mustard - both excellent.) and two Hefe Weissbier. (My husband joked that we played it safe with the beer - but I learned that one liter of beer is a lot more than I expected!) For the meal, my husband ordered the sausage platter with house chips and I ordered the pork schnitzel, with a side of potato salad and a side of the Jaeger gravy. The portions were huge! Their sausage platter has 4 types - and each sausage has a distinctive level of spice and flavor, which is a great choice if you like a range of flavors on your plate from mild (bratwurst and frankfurter) to uniquely flavorful (weisswurst) to the spicier (knackwurst). The knackwurst went really well with the curry ketchup, and the weisswurst had a nice gingery-citrusy flavor which I enjoyed very much by itself. Their house chips are so addictive! Their potato salad is really good - tasty with a nice balance of spices, and the dressing was light but thankfully not overbearingly vinegar-y (as I've found with a lot of other restaurant German potato salads' served cold). I swear it tasted like might have bacon in it - though I could not see it. Overall, the flavor was good, as in the taste of the potatoes is enhanced by the spices than overpowered by them. The schnitzel was perfect. Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. The pork cutlet was tender and juicy, with just the right amount of breading - honestly, it was just that good! About THAT Jaeger gravy: Though we both agreed that all of the food was delicious - I must tell you that their house-made Jaeger gravy is everything After finishing my schnitzel, I could not get enough of dipping everything that was dippable into that wonderful Jaeger gravy! It is definitely next level tasty and I highly recommend ordering it on the side, whether you're having the best of the wurst (as all varieties of the wurst we had were incredibly equally tasty), the schnitzel, or just a side of those addictive house chips! And, as if we weren't stuffed enough, we had to try their apple strudel. It was warm and sweet (but not too sweet) and the apples were just the right amount of flavorful and firm (and not mushy at all as sometimes happens with baking apples). And again, the portion was very generous and the perfect ending to a fantastic meal
*All in all, I highly recommend the food, and the servers are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I will definitely...
Read moreMy wife and I decided this could be a fun place for a date night. We are both prior military and I spent 6 years in Germany so we took advantage of a Vetix offer of free passes to the Krampus Haunt. Sooo, we drove down from Dunnellon to enjoy an authentic taste of Germany with the Krampus. First thing we did was the haunted shipping container (The Krampus Haunt). Two very nice young ladies did their best to scare us in the walk through the dark & mazed shipping container, only thing missing was the Krampus. Next onto the beer hall / restaurant. My wife ordered the schnitzel dinner with the Jager / mushroom gravy ($2 upcharge for a dollop Heinz jar gravy). The schnitzel itself could not have been over 4oz and the fried German potatoes were chips, yes, just chips. I ordered the Sausage platter featuring 4 sausages with curry ketchup and house mustard. The sliced up sausages had been under a heat lamp for a week it appeared, the mustard was probably a Frenches knock off without flavor. I was offered some sweet brown mustard, but none were German style course or senf horseradish mustard, which are standard German styles. Additionally I've never had a German sausage meal without brochen, German rolls. To be fair, I was offered a hotdog bun or pretzel bun when I asked for a brochen. On a positive note, the German beer selection was good and the staff were very friendly. The Krampus did appear for a moment walking around the restaurant & seated in his throne for a few minutes. I wish I had taken photos of the Krampus, nothing remotely close to the photos on the website & did not appear to want to engage with the guests. Overall the food needs some serious work to be considered German in any way other than...
Read moreKrush Brau Park is a veteran-owned operation in the heart of touristy Kissimmee, just outside of Orlando. It’s a new establishment that is building up its clientele. Every year, Mr. Krush provides free admission to Veterans through VetTix, an organization that provides free tickets to Vets across the country. Thanks to his generosity, I have managed at some point this year to bring my entire family to enjoy the festivities! It is a good time for all ages! It is super fun in the big tent, which is where we spent our time last year. I bring my 80-year old Mom and she is treated like a queen! Sweet and funny Kyle, (with the shmile), greets my Mom with her drink before even asked! They are so friendly! It feels like our hangout and we love it! I have no problem telling anyone what a good time we have at this place. This year, we are hanging out in the Portal Immersion Center (PIC) as they continue their renovations next door. It is smaller and more intimate. I have been to the actual Oktoberfest in Munchen (Munich) three times. Don’t come here looking for that! But you can expect a friendly staff, decent food, fun games, live music and lots and lots of beer! With the German music and bench seating, it will remind you a bit of Germany! Bring your friends and a designated driver and...
