Went twice.
The first time at 1pm they only had rye bagels left. I got two. They close at 3 but were out of other bagels. Thatâs a problem because this place is a little out of the way and I went to get BAGELs so to make a trip a little out of the way and come away without bagels was disappointing. Anyhow I got a couple of cookies too and a muffin. The price was $31. At the time I just paid, but driving home i thought that seemed like a lot. I was driving by a second time and thought Iâd pop in and try my luck. It was 10 am. They had bagels, I asked for a half dozen, but then remembered the prior bill, so asked how much for 6 as-is bagelsâŚ.$22. In a reflex action I said âthatâs crazyâ because i was shocked at that price. That may have been a little rude, so sorry.
I adjusted my order to 2 bagels for$8.50 ish as-is. got a rye and an everything. The bagels are good less dense than what Iâm use to but were soft ie fresh but a little smaller than other bagel places Iâve been to as well.
The place is cute with a nicely remodeled inside but way too pricey to put in the rotation.
Iâm all for supporting local businesses at a reasonable price and inline with similar places or a pay premium if the product worthy but Iâm afraid this huge premium is too much for...
Read moreMy first visit to Henryâs was very underwhelming. The interior felt very soulless, even some of the art work on the walls look like they couldâve been AI generated, it also has like a faux-local vibe. They had a good variety of bagels, spreads, and sandwiches to choose from. They donât seem to have any espresso drinks or regular iced coffee. I got the âblueberry barren cold brewâ and I believe it might have been the worst coffee Iâve ever had. Bagel was pretty good, nothing Iâd come back for or got out of my way to get. I got an everything bagels and all the garlic pieces on it were actually burnt which wasnât great. The vibe is cold and empty and I didnât get to try much of the food and drink but what I did try was not great.
Edit to respond to some of the comments made by the business owner: when im talking about AI art, Iâm not talking about the gallery wall. Iâm talking about the images on the menu and online ordering platform. The restaurant has a sterile cafeteria feeling, itâs not cozy. I adjust the service to 3 stars just because it wasnât that welcoming in there but nothing bad happened. The vibe just was not good, food didnât make up for it so thereâs no...
Read moreService is a little slow from order time to pick up but very friendly, good menu, nice atmosphere.
Update 1 Sept 2025... we did aa suggested and have ordered ahead of time via Square. It's still slow... ordered 2 bagels with cream cheese and submitted order at the Portsmouth traffic circle... confirmation said ready at 10:45...we ordered at 10:29. Got there about 10:40 and it was at last 10:50 or later before we got the order only to find it was wrong when we went to eat it...2 plain bagels instead of 1 plain and 1 everything (one much warmer than the other....i saw the first one come out and the second was very delayed... ). Very few of the folks on the line have any hustle or parralel processing... I am sorry but when you have a deep line someone needs to light a fire to get people served.. probably our last visit which is sad because food and environment...
