Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in Knoxville

I went into this location tonight at 7:00 p.m. I go here every few weeks after getting my nails done at the same time. I walked in there today and it had to be over 90°. Today's high was 88 and we're at 84% humidity. And this is a small building that is using ovens and stoves and producing hot goods So 90° is being way generous. It was miserable inside of there. The guys working were still being as pleasant as you could possibly be while working in those conditions. I asked if it had just gone out and was told that it has been going out for weeks now. That this is something they've been dealing with nearly every day for weeks now. Someone keeps coming out and saying it's fixed and it works for a little bit and then it stops again. This is absolutely unacceptable. The food was still good and the guys were still pleasant. They deserve to work and better conditions than that. So until I find out that the air conditioning and this building was actually fixed and the employees can be comfortable while working there all day I will be leaving my one star. When it's fixed I will come back and give you four stars because your employees and the food at this location deserve that.

I have driven past this location quite a bit, being from Pennsylvania I always wanted to try it. Since the south can't manage to put together a good sandwich beyond Publix for some reason I am always searching for a good hoagie.

Anyway...

I ordered the Cold Italian foot long and the sandwich was okay, no where near the best I have ever had if I am being honest.. I might have considered returning to this location... However, I probably won't since the short grey haired guy [my receipt on the sandwich says Kane?"] making the sandwiches was extremely rude. I walked in and went to where they were standing to order and told them what I wanted. He rudely barked at me that I needed to go to the other end of the counter to place my order. Then while I was placing my order with the Gentleman at the counter and the grey haired short guy rudely interrupted when I asked what comes on the sandwich. Over all he just seems like he is not cut out for dealing with the public. I mean I guess I would be pretty angry if I was his age working at a sandwich shop... I would have left 4 stars if the grey haired guy [Kane?] had even a little bit of personality. Also I felt $15 for a hoagie and a bag of chips to be...

I'm sorry but this has to be one of the worst ran establishments in our area. I have attempted to eat here more than once and my order has been wrong each time. I ordered delivery and got the chicken teriyaki on multigrain and twice now it was made with white bread. It clearly specified multi grain on the ticket both times. I called the first time and they just said oh sorry we're out of multi grain! Didn't even offer to replace the meal. Ordered take out another night, got the sandwich home, again white bread. Called today to give it one last go and even told the guy about my prior 2 bread mishaps... he said no problem I'll take care of it personally. As soon as I asked for multi grain during my order he cut me off and said they were out of it.... again.. If the bread is that popular why are you not stocking extra?? Unreal!! Poor management skills are simply going to kill...
