As of this evening's visit, I wouldn't even give one star if I didn't have to. Usually, we've had good service and food there in the past, but it has been steadily declining. I don't know if they've gotten new management, or what it is. Tonight started out decent, we visited about 6:30pm on a Saturday, and were able to get in within 5 minutes. (I think I know why now...) our waiter was prompt taking the order and brought refreshments and biscuits. We ordered two kids meals for the kids, an ultimate feast, and a surf and turf. Salads came out quickly. Then.... We waited... And waited... And..... Waited. We didn't inquire on the wait at the time. Finally after one an hour waiting for our main meal, it came. And it was all wrong. I had ordered no rice, and substituted extra scampi for the Walts, which they did, but there were no mashed potatoes and no Lemons and butter as ordered. No big deal, I'll live I had thought. Also I might add that the two kids entrees we ordered (chicken and fries) came out with plates so hot I hurt my hand on them. Was glad it wasn't my one year old or my 5 year old who got it! The surf and turf was brought out as a steak and a hard potato with just butter. He had ordered extra sour cream and butter. The steak was on top of mashed potatoes that were runny, yes.. Runny. Not runny with butter, runny like water added to mashed potatoes. Right on top of em. And there was a side of cold, Shredded lobster meat. No rock lobsters as ordered. The waiter looked at it and said it was way wrong and took the whole plate from us. He took it and left him with not a thing to eat while I ate mine. So, I ate while his got "fixed". About 10-15 minutes later, he brings out THE SAME EXACT PLATE, no joke, and they plopped a strip steak on top of the same runny cold potatoes! There was even rice on the upper side of the steak, as if they took it from another plate! It was supposed to be medium rare, and he wanted a filet, and this long steak was super well. We tried to send it back, claiming it was cold and not cooked correctly. And still no rock lobster, only that same tray of Shredded lobster meat! The waiter them proceeded to bring out the menu to our table and argue with my significant other about what went on it. He showed him what he ordered and the waiter said oh, I guess that's not right. My SO said to just please take it, and take it completely off. As by this time we had been there almost 2 hours and no refills or biscuits had been brought again since the originals. It was awful service. The waiter stated he didn't have authority to remove the meal or take it off, he'd have to get a manager. So, manager comes (I've already finished eating and the kids have too and are ready to leave and getting rowdy) and the manager offered to take off the meal and bring out the one again elusive rock lobster. We never see the manager again. Check comes and the meal is taken off. Which is good, because he never ate it! Nor did he get the actual meal he was supposed to get to begin with. Manager did inform us that they were down to one oven and that's why the long wait. Never ONE SINGLE apology. Personally, I don't think the management team has any idea what they are doing. It was an awful night to try and eat a nice meal as a family. I felt awful eating in front of him, but mine would have gotten cold too. I had asked for Lemons to eat with, along with a refill and more rolls, when we first got our food. I swear to you, he brought them as he started to cleared the table. Oh, and the table was so crowded with dishes he never took. Awful experience for the money. It's a real let down thinking you're going somewhere nice, just to have terrible service and food. We paid our bill and the waiter gently reminded us of the tipping chart at the bottom of the receipt! My significant other still left a tip, even though I felt he deserved none. We will not be back to the Kokomo, Indiana location. If we desire seafood, it will be worth the effort to drive to...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to go somewhere out of the norm for us for a date. All dressed up and drove an hour to get here. We sat at the bar because were told there was no wait at the bar. Being as it was just the two of us that was fine. We ordered our drinks. I had a strawberry margarita which was really good and my husband had a (yes a single) coke our entire meal. We had been seated and had our food ordered for an hour and a half before we were given bread. Kendra was our bar tender/ waitress. We watched her put together three to go orders worth of biscuits while being told the biscuits were in the oven. I ordered the 6 oz Filet mignon which was good after it got sent back to be butterflied and cooked medium well, because my plate was covered in blood. My husband got the 9 oz rock lobster tail which was so over cooked he had to cut it out of the shell with a knife. His coke glass sat for so long the ice melted and his glass was 3/4 of the way full. Not only did I have to send my steak back when it can back to me it was placed on the original blood soaked plate that was now dried blood. We had to ask for the topping on my baked potato, and the side order of shrimp my husband ordered. As well as cocktail sauce and butter which are a must with seafood. My steak was taken off our bill, but we've never had any experience in a restaurant where we had to listen to our waitress complain about orders that were coming in and how disastrous of an evening it had been. I don't believe we will be going back to this location. I gave them a two star rating because it's Christmas time but after the experience we had and a $55 Bill even though my steak was removed I shouldn't have even done that. It was awful! And when all was said and done, we got up to leave and found our waitress standing outside smoking with two cooks. The manager on duty got our salads, 35 minutes before we got biscuits. We got to the restaurant at 630 p.m. and left at 808 p.m.. We literally had to beg for the things we ordered. The times in this post are accurate and true. Let the record reflect our occupation is restaurantuers, we understand being busy and how restaurants should run. We truly have had the worst experience in a restaurant this year and we dine out every evening. We've been treated better at McDonald's. And although the waitress was completely inept and the food was worse, our dining experience falls on the management staff, and they...
Read moreI've visited this particular restaurant several times, usually shrimp-fest. Usually the service is great, but not on this visit, very unfortunate as we were celebrating our anniversary. Beginning with the seating, we were the only 2 at the concierge desk, yet waited 5+ minutes in a dining area only approximately 50% capacity. When we were seated, it was another 5m before someone came to take our drink order. 10 minutes later my husband received his drink but mine was delayed but would be only a few more minutes. So, since every time we've ever been in any Red Lobster, they bring out the biscuits as soon as we're seated. Not this time. I had to ask for them. When they were not served when my drink came, I was told they were still being made and would be around 20 minutes! It's dinner time ppl! Wouldn't you think, as an employee of a busy restaurant, that you would anticipate the need to keep them made up and ready to serve?? Well to the food, my husband just ordered the fish and chips. I opted to celebrate with the admeral's feast. Had many options. I ordered a salad and requested they leave off the onions. They brought it to the table as if they actually dumped an entire cut up onion! So that went back. A few minutes later we had a new server. No salad, but at least she brought the biscuits. And once again, hubby received his plate while I waited. And the new server was not aware that I had to send back the salad. So new salad served at same time of full meal, meanwhile hubby was almost finished with his meal. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and the floor was wet both inside the stalls and really wet near the sinks. And the odor was unbelievably nauseating. I commented about that as I was walking out to two employees and they stated that the odor was related to something coming up from the grate in the floor so they poured hot water into the grate. Wow, I wonder whose bright idea that was! Well, it was so bad that my appetite was ruined. This was all in all the worst experience we've ever encountered at a Red Lobster, and I (we) will never return. Paid over $100 for the worst dining...
