Read moreNeed better/more qualified managers. I sat at the hibachi grill with my husband. His food comes out plated! What? Wait a minute... how do you have food when we don't have a chef yet on the grill. Keep in mind we are sitting at the hibachi grill expecting our food to be cooked on the hibachi grill. If I was wanting my food cooked in the back and brought out then I would have sat in the dining room. When we said 'excuse me there is a mistake' we were told that since the food was already prepared that they could not rectify the problem. Seriously!?!? You made the mistake but you have no resolution. Why would we sit at the hibachi grill with six other people we do not know to have food prepared in the back and brought out? AND why would only one of us get food prepared in the back, eat it by ourself while the other is sitting there waiting on the chef to come out. One of us would be done eating BEFORE the other one's meal was even being prepared!?!? Does that make any sense at all!?!? C'mon! Our waitress offered to pay for this because she felt bad. Let me get this straight, the manager would have let the waitress pay for it because there were no other solutions. Ridiculous! We paid for the prepared and already plated food, boxed it up and just left .... still before the chef even came out. Absolutely 100% will never go back and will tell everyone about how horrible management is there. Anyone with one brain cell would know if manager's are bad, employees will become bad because they have no leadership and the business will slowly or maybe quickly plummet. PLEASE if you still choose to go there, be very clear that if you sit at the hibachi grill that you want your food cooked on the hibachi grill because the employees clearly do not know this. AND if you have any comments, suggestions or concerns do not waste your time with any manager. The problem solving skills of managers there are on about a middle school intellectual level...
Read moreThe food is a little on the pricy side, but the presentation is very nice and entertaining, the staff is attentive and incredibly nice, and the food is some of the best I've had anywhere in Indiana. We got a nice wide selection of the menu, and we thoroughly enjoyed every item we sampled. Diners have the option of sitting at a hibachi grill and watching a chef prepare their food in front of them, but we decided to stick to the dining room today. The entire restaurant feels very much modern and trendy, which is a nice and quite unique look in the part of Kokomo it's in.
We had tons of fun and ate tons of food and had an amazing experience. Our waiter was probably one of the nicest and most accommodating people I've met in a restaurant. The tables are pretty small and close together, but we had a great time talking to the other tables and really enjoying our meals together. The staff were even in costume to celebrate Halloween, which made the whole experience extra fun!
The food ranged from above - average to phenomenal, with some menu items being absolutely stunning in terms of both presentation and flavour. There was no item I sampled that left me disappointed. The one item that stood out the most to me was the flaming island roll. This sushi roll is served wrapped in foil and lit on fire at the table, much to the amusement of the entire dining room, and tasted just as good as it looked. It's a unique and fun experience, but an incredibly satisfying meal as well, even for those who have never enjoyed sushi, such as my mother who ate more of it than I did.
Honestly, truly, this is probably one of my favourite restaurants in Indiana now, and I'm so glad we gave it a try. For small gatherings, I can't recommend this place enough, but it may not be able to comfortably accommodate more than 4 or 6 people...
