First thing to note right now is that they're thankfully still open and running business as usual, however they're just not offering in-house dining just yet. You can order over the phone or walk in for takeout.
The bagels all look heavenly, along with their fresh juices, homemade cream cheese spreads, teas and vietnamese coffees. We ordered 2 sandwiches from their list of most popular options. Lox was my go-to of course and it absolutely didn't disappoint. The number of capers on it was a bit of overkill in my opinion, but it was great nonetheless. My fiance ordered the turkey, bacon, cheese and tomato on a jalapeno bagel. I had to have a bite because I can't turn my head from all things jalapeno. So so good!
We wanted some souvenirs to-go, so we obviously ordered half a dozen bagels, specialty cream cheese, and a vietnamese coffee for the road. This consisted of 3 gourmet bagels, hawaiian, sundried tomato, and spinach parmesan bagels paired with an 8 oz. container of homemade garlic herb cream cheese spread.
I actually dropped my vietnamese coffee on the floor on the way out because I'm a huge klutz and went to clean it up but the lovely employees (I'm thinking the owner is the one who actually was interacting with us-- VERY friendly man) said to not worry about it. He mopped it up and poured me a fresh iced vietnamese coffee which I was very thankful for. Great hospitality and a kind attitude goes a very long way in the food industry. If your personality is beautiful and contagious, then that's a reason to come back in itself.
All in all... The bagels were delicious. Homemade cream cheese is AMAZING. Vietnamese coffee is strong how I like it and I'm going to be hyped for the next couple of hours because of it, LOL. Pricing is just right. They're in a prime location right off a main street and I hope they're here for a long time! Happy belated 1 year,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDon't compare to east coast bagel level. I enjoy both the bagel sandwich and simple take out of bagels with their inhouse made cream cheese which brings me back to in office days when sometimes there would be bagels in the breakroom and just enjoying a nice toasted bagel with cream cheese spread just satisfying warm breakfast!
Of course the owners are great too, got to talk with one of them since I heard them speaking chinese so I was curious of their background and how they came to open a bagel store in la habra lol. He told me about their supply/demand and how sometimes there would be bagel runs early mornings but he couldn't sell them all since it would cut into their midday supply for sandwiches so they had a limit of bagel run bagels. It was interesting to learn about and made sense, if bagel runs bought out all the bagels before 8AM and profit margins were 5% per bagel vs 20% per sandwich then they would lose out on mid day profit even if they could sell out earlier. Figurative numbers of course.
It was a pretty decent bagel and...

I stopped by this bagel shop expecting a simple, no-fuss breakfast, but instead, I got one of the most ridiculous policies Iāve ever heard. I wanted to buy just a couple of plain bagelsānothing fancy, just the bagels themselves. But apparently, thatās not allowed unless I pay extra for cream cheese! Seriously? They refused to sell me individual bagels unless I added a topping. Since when do you have to earn the right to buy a bagel?
I asked if I could just pay for the bagels alone, and they flat-out said no unless I ordered them with cream cheese. Itās absurd. Feels like a greedy way to squeeze more money out of customers. A bagel shop that wonāt just sell bagels? Make it make sense.
Needless to say, I walked out and wonāt be coming back. Plenty of other places sell bagels without ridiculous strings attached. Never coming back. Also, they charge you for slicing the bagels in half, have you ever heard of something...
