BJ’s — Restaurant in La Mesa

The only thing worse after 10:00 pm is Vallartas. And that's the dilemma when I get home from work late. It's bad enough that you're using pressed chicken, it's bad enough that you're using d level asparagus but at the end of the day the cooks must be trash because the food always ends up such. At least this time they remembered to put the sauce on but clearly didn't care to make it correctly. It's supposed to be a (creamy) lemon butter sauce, not a lump of mushrooms sauteed in salt and oil and water. And speaking of salt, everything was so over salted it was inedible. Asparagus is a joke. Your corporate establishment is being so grimy you're ordering garbage produce, and if that's not what you ordered send it back with the purveyor because it's unacceptable. You ought to be ashamed serving it let alone charging it for as a side also. Line cook skills are utterly lacking. It gets one star since I at least didn't have to wait an extra 20 minutes since this kitchen can't seem to get their orders...

First time here! Barely saw our server, had to ask for the same thing a couple times before we even got it. Food was trash, got boneless wings they weren't bad but they also weren't good, my mother got the prime rib plate 35 dollars for it to be mid!, broccoli was dry, asked for butter about 15 minutes ago, still havent received it as im writing this. It was just a bad experience all around, waiting 30-35 mins for us to not even eat our food. I get it being busy on a Friday night, however for our server to not be attentive no update on our food "hey sorry about the wait, is there anything I can get you while you wait?" Nothing to reassure us that she hadn't forgotten about us. Don't go here if you want good food. The service was ok, our poor server did the best she could all things considered — horrible food. My wife ordered the ahi tuna salad, it was not edible. The tuna quality was just revolting, this is not hyperbole. The cucumbers in the salad were stale/rotting, the cabbage was also stale, it was just a horrible dinning experience. The waitress seemed embarrassed & promptly took the salad off our bill. My burger was dry & flavorless, but I ate it because I was very hungry.
