Barnes & Noble — Local services in La Mesa

Love this Barnes & Noble!! Been comimg here with my family since I was little kid.

As far as the book selection goes, they're stocked pretty well across-the-board. Helpful and attentive staff, been going here for years and I've never had an issue. This location is connected to a Starbucks

The store overall has a great selection. Nice children's book area as well as fairly large game section for the children. There's also a fairly large adult table top game section. There's also a whole section of the store dedicated to note books and stationary. Lastly, there is a card section in the back.

The only area in which this location is lacking is the music and movie selection, no fault of theirs, they just don't have the space for it like other Barnes & Nobles. They're probably pivoting away from that because of streaming. Nice that they have something at least. However, if you're looking for Cds or DVDs/Blu-ray I would search elsewhere. Their Santee location has a great selection.

Lastly there is a wonderful little Bible section in the back. What struck me was that an employee had taken the time to add handwritten notes in front of each Bible translation that describe their differences! The notes are surprisingly in depth which was funny because I didn't expect to see it but I appreciate it!

It's super clean has alot of selection my only problem was that 2 employees where talking very loudly a woman with dark hair glasses and black shirt with white pokadots and a man this wouldent be a problem at all if it wasnt for me having ADD and when I read and somone is talking loudly I absolutely cant help but hear what they are saying cause I cant block out the talking but this also wouldn't have been a problem if it wasnt for what they where talking about so loudly she was talking about her military husband and he was talking to her about it and he made the comment your not like other military wives your not obese and have a breeding problem and she replied saying yeah she wasnt like other military wives she isnt like a puppy farm continuously breeding so that was EXTREMELY rude and should not have been said out lound especially when you dont know who can hear you cause I am a military wife yes I'm overweight but I was solely at the bookstore reading about PCOS and learning how to loose weight and be healthier also I dont have kids cause i have fertility issues! So watch what you say where you say it I was about to talk to your manager about it cause...

Great for books not for collectibles I'm sorry to say I know you have your loss prevention tie all those strings to those boxes but you just literally destroy the box with those security theft devices I would have made two purchases which was well over $300 but since the box was mangled due to the spider web alarm security device thing you guys have on them I'm sorry I gave it a four-star and it's because of that the rest of the store is fantastic well organized very clean kind staff but your collectibles need to figure out a way to put something else on that so that they don't get taken how about a glass case and then you hand it to the person that is interested in buying it instead of wrapping it inside of that thing that just destroys the quality of the Box because there are collectors who don't want their box destroyed and mangled the same goes for books but all your books don't have that anti-theft device so you lost a good customer right there I don't come there for the books it's for the collectibles and you have great prices you just destroy the actual...
