Deano’s Pub – 5286 Baltimore Dr. - LaMesa, CA – GREAT PLACE FOR FUN!! I will not write a review unless I believe it is truly warranted. Well, I surprised myself by wanting to write a review about Deano’s Pub after my first visit. I was told about this Pub during a visit to a Lash & Brow business almost a year ago. The person assured me that it was fun, she knew the owners and I should stop by sometime. I decided to do just that and stop by on my way home, Friday, August 18. Because I had not visited, I was wary of how it would be visiting solo. I sat at the bar which is my favorite location. I arrived just as Jess was leaving and it was time for Amy the bartender to start her evening. I told her it was my first time there and she said “welcome, you will like it”. As she came behind the bar, I saw someone who was a perfect candidate for a bartender. My first impression of her was someone who had a great customer service smile and exhibited a genuine bubbly disposition. I asked for a food menu. They do not serve food. However, Amy offered there was a restaurant next door where I could order and bring food in. I did just that. As the evening progressed, I saw the same personality consistency from Amy as she addressed customers. In the corner, the team was setting up for Erika’s surprise birthday celebration which was rather nice to watch. I was introduced to Kayla who was also kind and welcoming. Deano introduced himself and welcomed me. To sum it up, I will suggest if you have not given this place a visit, give it a try. You might even try your hand at a game of pool too! Deano’s Pub is authentically welcoming, great drinks, great staff, wonderful patrons, and one place to certainly keep on your outing rotation. Oh yeah, I cannot forget to say they have entertaining events as well, cover bands, karaoke, trivia and surprise as to what other events might happen. A Huge Thanks to Amy and Kayla for a great first experience! See you next time 😊...
Read moreThis is the second time I've been here since they changed owners. The appearance of the bar has definitely been upgraded. He knocked out a partial wall to expose the street view. Also seems to be inclusivity to LGBTQ. Sundays pool is free.
I came here for an afternoon drink. The advertised $6 Jameson which enticed me to come in. I had two drinks and got my bill. The total was $13.02. Nothing an extra dollar was a big deal but most places you go to the taxes are included with the drinks so you know what you're paying. I wasn't sure why so I asked the bartender and she was very snarky with me after I told her I was going to make others aware. She said they were fixing it in January. I didn't feel comfortable or welcomed at all. There was no music playing which seemed to force me to play the Touch tunes jukebox which cost extra money.
Overall, the place was ok. Maybe worth visiting to form your...
Read moreStopped by this place to have a cold one and charge my phone. I tried a pint of Stone Delicious and it left a sour aftertaste, so I capped the evening with a pint of Mango Cart which is pretty damn good 👍. This neighborhood dive has two pool tables, shuffleboard, a few TVs, and a cool bartender Tim. The pool tables are free all day Sunday. The felt on the tables is faded, worn and one has a large stain. The women playing on the second table dropped their cue stick at least 10 times. Efficient service, but with only five customers it doesn't say much. A little work and this COULD be a five...
