Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors — Restaurant in La Mesa

Tried this restaurant 8 years ago and found it to be very overpriced for the amount of food you receive and the food tasted too sweet. All of it had a strange overwhelming sweetness to it. Tried it again recently, and found the same thing to be true. Only gave it a second chance because we were desperate for Chinese delivery and there weren't many options. 1/3 of our order was left out when we received it. We called the store and after putting us on hold 4 times, asked if we could come in and pick it up. That defeats the entire purpose of the expensive delivery and we weren't able to do so. Then they offered some sort of store credit or coupon but we were definitely not coming back a third time. What we wanted, was for our money to be refunded for the items we didn't receive. Didn't expect anyone to bring us the rest of our food. They wouldn't do this and told us to take it up with their third party delivery company. The delivery driver did NOT eat our missing food, Pick Up Stix didn't pack it. So we just left it at that instead of causing a problem for our delivery driver. Lost our business...

Not as good as it used to be. I think maybe my chef burnt the house special chicken. I asked for my soup first before the main dish and they told me of course they could do that. But then the complete opposite happened. They brought my main course out and said "oh the soup isn't ready yet is that alright?" And I told him no that's not all right but did he do anything to correct it no just put the food down. No that's not all right cuz that's the exact opposite of what I asked for and you know that so why would you ask me if that's all right. Perhaps coming out and saying. oh my gosh I'm so sorry we messed up and is there a somehow we can make it up to you how about a chocolate-covered fortune cookie. The only reason I'm giving three stars is in the past I have had good food here and good service and I don't want to have just one bad experience with the taste of the food and the service ruin it for everybody. Perhaps I'll go back once I forget about this last experience but...

This place is great. The staff is great. They are fast. They have never messed up my order. However I will only give them three stars because they close at 9 pm. At Pick Up Stix ... why do you guys close so early? Apparently all of the Pick Up Stix in the area close at 9 pm. Why not just close at 6 p.m.? It is an unfortunate situation because if I do make it into the restaurant right before 9 p.m. when they close there are usually several other people running in to get dinner as well. I also hate to be that guy that orders right before they close. I'm sure if they were open a little longer maybe an hour or at least 30 minutes, they would have plenty of business. Some of the nicer restaurants in the area are open until 11. Honestly I do not understand why they...
