Eastern Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in La Plata

I am a regular patron of this restaurant, but today I was very disappointed with the service I received. My order clearly stated “no mushrooms,” yet it was prepared incorrectly. After a lot of back and forth (with attitude on the part of the restaurant) they eventually agreed to remake and redeliver the order. When the delivery driver arrived, I was shocked that he requested the incorrect order back. As I explained to him, I had already discarded it. The driver stated he couldn’t give me the new order without retrieving the old one, which is concerning for health and safety reasons as food that has left the restaurant should never be reused or returned.

It wasn’t until I insisted on a refund and told him to keep the new order that he finally agreed to leave it with me.

This experience was both disappointing and disheartening, especially as a customer who has supported this...

We ordered delivery, steamed shrimp, shrimp egg rolls, mozzarella sticks and egg drop soup. It was suppose to be delivered in 50 minutes, it ended up taking them about 90 minutes. The shrimp were over cooked and not seasoned with anything. Also, there was no cocktail or horseradish sauce provided. The shrimp eggrolls were good although they were a bit greasy. The mozzarella sticks were good but cold because of how long they took to deliver and yet again, no sauce was provided (marinara sauce). The egg drop soup had an odd taste to it, almost a soapy taste...yuck! Overall, we were not pleased...the best thing we ate were the cold mozzerella sticks with no sauce to dip them in. Definitely will not be ordering from here...

Eastern is one of three Chinese food restaurant or carry-out in the La Plata area. They have delivery and on this visit I decided to stop through while traveling. This evening the weather was cold outside and when I walked into the restaurant it was cold inside as well. This made my decision to order To-Go easier. This is more a Carry-Out than a sit down place. They do have four tables if you chose to eat in. The challenge is the temperature and when someone walks in you feel a rush of cold air. I ordered Shrimp with Broccoli with extra shrimp. The food was hot and good! If you want Carry-Out with fast service and delivery this is the place...
