Panda Express — Restaurant in La Plata

My nephew and i went to la plata panda expess. we go two bowls, one with B&B and one with angus beef. we got home and looked 😳😡...ten tons of rice and barely and i MEAN barely any meat (i wish i would have taken a pix!) We go back to panda express, i asked for a refund and showed our bowls ($18.50) full of rice with barely anything. She went and got another young lady and i did my show and tell and asked for a refund...basically she says Panda express doesnt really do refunds because its a long process...we gotta call our seniors to put it in and its just whole thing...its alot. Then the young man standing beside her had the NERVE AND GALL to say..we cant give bigger portions...i said i didnt ASK for bigger portions, i want a refund! THEN he says its like haggling with Walmart it is what it is! 😳😳 (whoa goodness the nerve!!) i had to take second and i answered, if thats ur serving size thats fine i want my refund. The young lady did her spill of the long drawn out refund story again and that she can give me a plate instead of the bowls. i said i dont want it...i just want my refund; i cant pay almost $20 for basically two bowls of rice. The young man pipes up again and says...let me help you out for when u go to a chinese resturante...if its beef and brocolli u get more beef and if its brocolli and beef u get more brocolli than beef. (Wwwooooa the look i gave him!!! team google what does that have to do with my refund?😡 ) i took a second and ignored his crazy statement and said i have NEVER heard of a store not giving refunds. i got the refund spill again and my nerves just gave out and i conceded to the plates (😭). i got the plates and said what do u want me to do with bowls? (they were sitting on the counter). The young man gave me a cheesie grin and said u can have it ...it free or u can throw it in the trash . i said i dont want it...you dispose of it and i left the store. PANDA EXPRESS LA PLATA, MD u dont have to worry about me anymore...after that experience and the snarkie remarks i shall take my business else where. i hope ur cameras have audio as well 🤔 Then u can hear and see how how ur customers are...

The fact that ownership/management haven’t replied to the MANY complaints regarding the following issues should tell you all you need to know about them. I don’t blame the employees one bit, they’re just trying to make their money. It’s the leadership, or lack of rather, that seems to be the problem.

Issues so far in the reviews: Cleanliness Portion sizes Early closing (as early as 8:45) Poor customer service Lying to customers (refund policy is actually pretty easy)

Let me start by acknowledging that I attempted to eat here 45 minutes before closing.

This location says it closes at 9:30pm (both inside and drive through), but when I stopped by to pick up some late dinner it was closed. Doors were locked and food was out of the warmers. I get it that maybe they wanted to get a jump on closing duties but come on, 45 minutes early? I thought, ok fine, I’ll just hit the drive through. Nope, instead of being able to place an order, I get a small list of what I can order because they aren’t making any more food! Why say that you’re open until a certain time, you should be willing to serve your customers until that time. If you’re only open until the food is gone, then maybe you should advertise as so.

This is frustrating for those of us that typically place online orders and expect to be able to pick up anytime before the advertised...

Love Panda but the La Plata location is a nightmare. I don’t know what management is doing to those employees, but each time I go in, they look so demoralized.

I asked an employee last time I went in why this was my impression. She mentioned that management was completely inept and gave many practical examples.

As we were wrapping up our conversation, a manager type with the name tag of “Cong”appeared and literally screamed at all of them about productivity and looking alive.

I’ll go to any Panda Express location now except for the one in La Plata....
