This 1 star is an over rating for the Spencer hwy location in La Porte: We have been loyal Baskin-Robbins customers for over 11 years, starting when the store was in Deer Park and continuing after it moved to the Spencer Highway location. Unfortunately, our experiences at the La Porte store have consistently gone downhill, and after this last visit, we will never be returning.
The staff they hire—mostly teenagers—have been nothing but rude. On MULTIPLE occasions, we’ve arrived nearly an hour before closing time only to find the “Open” sign turned off, lights shut down, and the employees clearly trying to deter customers from coming in. We’ve even seen other customers try the doors, assuming they were closed when they were not. I’ve also witnessed them rolling their eyes and talking about customers to each other when they’re deciding their order.
This most recent visit was the last straw. We arrived with an hour and 15 minutes to spare before closing. We ordered our ice cream and noticed all the chairs were stacked on top of the tables. Thinking they were preparing to mop, my husband took a couple of chairs down so we could sit. The cashier immediately told him, “There’s a reason those are up there.” When he asked what the reason was, she repeated herself in a rude tone and finally said, “The lobby is closed.”
An hour before closing time? Really? The store is open, but customers aren’t allowed to sit down? On top of that, the rude attitude made it clear that they didn’t want us there at all. If employees hate customers so much, perhaps they should find another job. Cleaning up after customers is part of the job, and no one should be treated like an inconvenience for simply wanting to enjoy their purchase.
We’ve spent a lot of money here over the years, but the way customers are treated at this location is unacceptable. It’s clear that customer service is not a priority here, and we will not be back. Read moreFirst, let start by saying I'm surprised by this post, even sitting here writing it! But ya'll, I grew up on Baskin. Ask anyone who knows me! Until tonight, I've never had an issue. See, the thing is I order a Chocolate Blast all the time. It's "not on the menu anymore," but it's literally a Cappuccino Blast without the coffee....or a chocolate milkshake with ice. The employee was very accommodating and said sure, asking the ingredients and what they usually charged me. I told her the same as a Cappuccino Blast. All of a sudden, this older woman asked her what she was making. The employee and I both replied the drink. She then replied, "If it's not on the menu, we usually don't make it. I, in turn, informed her, well that's weird. "I've already ordered it here before and at the old location. She was like, "The one in Deer Park? That was my store, I'm the owner with the look of no we didnt." Yep, that one too, I apologize, but again, I've been ordering and teaching the employees how to make it. She then asked what size and how many scoops of ice cream. It was 2, she then looks at me and says "it's only supposed to be 1 scoop, so I'm going to have to charge you for the extra scoop. I said ok no problem. We paid and the young girl brought me my drink. I told her thank you so much for helping me. She said no problem, but it was a challenge. After I took a sip, I told her it was perfect! Everything was fine, we worked through it, The only hard part was scooping the ice cream, because it was too cold.
My problem is why the owner felt she needed to intervene and talk to us rudely. I didn't order something complicated. My husband ordered a Banana split with 3 different ice creams and all sorts of sauces and toppings. That's complicated, lol.
I guess I'll teach M/S down the street how to make a blast.

Read moreI'm very upset with my birthday cake purchase from this baskin Robbins. First I had a picture that I was using and uploaded it threw the website so it was $59 for a cake. Well when I went to pick up the cake the picture was different from the one I uploaded on to the website. I even showed them a screen shot I took of the picture on the cake from their website but they acted like I was to blame. I grew even more upset when then the manager basically told me it was my fault and there was nothing they could do for me. I paid $60 for a messed up birthday cake and they wouldn't even give me a discount for their mistake! ! Please don't order a picture cake threw them because they will definitely ruin your day!!!
If I could give zero stars I would !!!! I will never again use...
