Kickin' Kajun Smokehouse Craft BBQ — Restaurant in La Porte

I'll take a picture next time. Food is fan-fn-tastic. If you know BBQ you know turkey is a hard Fr to get right. I tried his Wednesday brisket chimichanga last week. It was a monstrosity, in the best possible way. It was a little too rich for me honestly, but I ate a good 3rd-1/2 of it. Came back today for a 3 meat 12$ plate. Two slices of turkey, two decent slabs of brisket, a whole sliced link(popper(it was mad fn decent) added a peach rib for 2$. The turkey and sausage stood out for the 3 meat plate. The brisket I got was a little on the lean side but that was probably my fault I should've asked for the fatty side. Turkey 8 sausage 7 brisket 5(sorry) the rib was an easy 8 taste wise but it was a little floppy which again I don't mind but comp wise it shouldn't fall off the bone flavor wise fmeupfam. Sides. I tried the green beans and the jalapeno slaw. Bro. The green beans 9.5/10 maybe even better than my mother in laws. Definitely better than someone else in La Porte (wooden) but I'm hoping he's the younger. The slaw was fire as well 8.5/10 good spice idk what the crunchy addon was but enjoyed it. Didn’t get to actually try any food unfortunately, but when I did attempt to i wasnt helped at all. Questionable customer service. I asked the hours of operation simply because I live far and I was replied with the hours are on their Facebook page, so rather then them just simply telling me I went on line and seen their hours and they were open until 3PM. so I planned accordingly, and went the next day, which I did within those listed hours. Well what do you know I’m stuck in their drive thru with no help, so I message the Facebook page and they tell me they close at 2PM. I voiced my frustration and let them know how far I drove and how they could’ve told me before hand instead of a vague “check the page for our hours of operation”. So I didn’t get An apology to say the least. Then after the fact a few moments later i scroll down Facebook and another customer is asking if they still had food available and to which this business said yes he can make him a plate. I had my second trip to this new BBQ place today. The first trip a few weeks ago was awesome... first trip had 2 meat plate (chicken, brisket, green beans and mac/cheese) and could barely walk out of there without help. Very large portions. The chicken was something out of this world. I am a pretty tough critic on BBQ, particularly chicken because it is always so dry. The other BBQ options around this area are mediocre at best. Not this stuff, this chicken was so damn juicy I needed a bib. So so good. Went back today to see if it was just a fluke. Got the half chicken plate with green beans and cajun potatoes to go for $10.00. Lawd have mercy. That chicken was even better the second time around! Them bones were picked clean!
