McDonald's — Restaurant in La Porte

Went to Walmart mcds, there was no customers inside and was 50 degrees, we walked out, too cold to eat in there. I have eaten mcds for over 50 years! The pine lake location has gone so far downhill, I can't eat there any longer. I know they brought their fixer manager Mitch over to fix it but to no avail...the burgers are salty and not up to mcdonalds standards, pop is warm coming out of the dispensers, employees don't seem to care,, these lubesnik McDonald's don't taste like a McDonald's is supposed to...stopped at the McDonald's at the state line a few years ago, Illinois and Indiana and at the drive through window.It smelled like the mcdonald's from the seventies ,delicious. Our burgers tasted the same way just like from the old days delicious, tangy ketchup old school mcds flavor...none of your local northwest indiana mcdonalds taste this way, it's like they messed with the recipe or need to go back to the mcdonalds university to relearn how to make them correctly..my son just finished his and said it wasn't the greatest....just to double check,,,we ate at the mcdonalds in Rochester, indiana and it was much better than laporte, a tasty burger, sorry Mitch, but we can not stomach the burgers there any longer. Food and drinks are supposed to taste better than you can make at home when you go out to eat, not worse....we will give laporte mcdonalds another chance in a month or so to check your progress, I used to eat a lot for 7 years at the pilot location in burns harbor, it was OK as well as eating 27 years at Westville location, it was great as long as you got there at 1030 to 11 when they switched from breakfast to lunch...mcdonalds used to have a addictive taste but now I leave with a bad taste in my mouth,,,,

UPDATE 3/21/25 PINE LAKE MCDONALDS IS BACK!!! I heard good reports so I knew it was time to retry, so on march 21, I was very happy that my meal was delicious again! The buns looked like buns again and were not smashed to 1/4" and were toasted perfectly! The burger was properly seasoned and cooked well, the fries were crispy and not soggy and limp like most mcds (wow), the pop coming out of the dispenser is refrigerated again, The burger was so good that I had to order a second one to make sure of what I was tasting! The place was clean and I was thanked by employees inside and outside as I was leaving. Congrats Mitch and your crew for a fantastic turn around, was much needed at...

One of the worst McDonald's in the region. Do yourself a favor and skip this McDonald's if you're in Laporte. There's a dozen other fast food restaurants to pick from nearby. Food is awful, employees are slow, incompetent and extremely rude. I went there to get a double cheeseburger only ketchup mustard. First they give me a burger with one slice of cheese ketchup and onion. I ask nicely for a correction and the girl brings me the same burger and it looked like someone took a napkin and just wiped off the toppings, disregarding a double cheeseburger that costs about $4 should have two slices of cheese on it. I go inside and ask again for it to be remade and the girl apologizes and says she'll fix it herself. While she's making it one of the other employees starts screaming at her to get back up front. She comes up and hands me a sandwich, I unwrap it and it's disgusting, looks like the same burger for the third time except there's a cold slice of cheese slapped on the bottom of the burger and it's absolutely covered in ketchup. I ask another employee to just give me a refund since I was now late on my lunch break and she insists on remaking it a 4th time, I had to yell at her and demand just the refund and she angrily went to the register and processed then told me "you have to sign this receipt or you don't get your money" unbelievable. I ordered a Steak Egg and Cheese meal with orange juice. They informed me they don't have orange juice, and haven't since November due to not having a part. Not sure how a multi-billion dollar franchise can't get this store a part, or another machine all together. Then I asked for my drink to be a mocha frappe, which they then told me isn't available either because their machine is in a cleaning mode for 6-7 hours. This was at 6:30 am Monday morning. I just got the sandwich and proceeded to pay. No receipt was given. When I got to work and opened the tightly wrapped sandwich, half of the egg was under the sandwich. I decided to call the store and asked for the manager. The women who answered said it was her, but after her refusal to properly address the issue some other lady got on the phone and said she was the manager. I explained to the second person the issues but I quickly realized she hung up on me. I didn't curse/swear/degrade anyone, the lines are recorded. I called back and I asked to speak the manager again. I asked her why she hung up on me and she said "no sir, you better get your facts straight" then proceeded to hang up yet again. I don't dislike Mcdonalds as a whole but the morning staff on 2/6/23 needs some serious tending to. Management should know of this, but apparently I was speaking to management.
