The Moon — Restaurant in La Porte

I attended this place on a Saturday due to a recommendation from the nearby waffle House personnel. I had a very nice time and they had live music. I asked them where I can get a decent steak and they told me there on Tuesdays. Well they were not wrong. The steak I got there that following Tuesday was the best steak I've have ever had and I've had a lot of steaks. It was cooked to perfection, juicy, savory, and every other positive adjectives you can possibly think of. Price was amazing. I literally only paid $20 but I gave a 10-dollar tip so $30 for a damn near 18 Oz steak. Then on top of all that with the happy hour prices I caught a good buzz and only spent close to $13 or less not including the tip for the bartender. Now as for the bar it does have a biker bar appeal to it but then again I like that kind of appeal and an older crowd but once again I prefer that. Definitely going to attend this place as often as I can while I'm in town.

Edit: I'm definitely going to miss this bar and if it wasn't for a change in my work schedule which sent me home a week sooner I would definitely be there for there Tuesday steak night. They have the best steaks I've ever had and if I ever find myself back in Texas I'm definitely going to come by and buy some rounds again.

(Update 7 months later) This bar has not changed great ppl, great price on beer and I got to walk a dog for the owners friend, like seriously what more can a guy ask for and I got a free beer for doing it which I would have done...

Been going here for about a year. I have never seen a more friendly staff. There mindful , respectful, and very kind. I live right across the way. The first night I went there I had a little to much to drink which was apparent when I stood up. The bartender after her shift drove me to the place I stay on her way home just to make sure I was okay. I've been going ever since and I have to say I honestly feel like this bar is my second home. I traveled out of country recently and when most people get homesick they think of there parents or there brothers and sisters. I was missing the moon. Nothing better than a cold one and some tunes. Or even better kareoke on Mondays! If you go you will have a great time just don't forget to tip your bartender. And if you go on a Monday I'll probably be there so...

I have been a resident of La Porte all my life but just started enjoying the baes around here. I love Neon Moon. But last night I had a PROFOUND experience. I am having issues w my rotator cuff and have been on muscle relaxers for the last few days and went out last nite. This female bartender saw I was "not right" and asked me what I needed. I told her I needed to go home and she literally grabbed her keys and drove me home so I would be safe. It was so kind of her as shes not as familiar as the others but I wanted to tell her thank you and lift her up. They were so busy also. She as an angel o me. Did for me what I couldnt do for myself....
