Happy Wok — Restaurant in La Puente

I love Chinese food and mostly go for takeout since my partner isn't into it. I was headed home from the Walmart Neighborhood Market, which took me longer than expected, so I stopped at about 1:30 p.m. Only three people were ahead of me, but while I waited, about another ten showed up in line behind me. The line moved quickly.

My order consisted of fried rice with orange chicken and barbecue pork. The portion was more than generous, easily enough for two people. The barbecue pork was a standout, perfectly cooked and flavorful. The fried rice was also delicious. However, the orange chicken, while generally good, had a slightly dry and fibrous bite towards the end.

I most definitely will go back when I'm in the area.

I downrated the atmosphere because if you're going to eat inside, you are sitting right next to the people waiting in line. Would it be better to rope them off so they stand closer to...

Very poor service. They didn't post anywhere that they only accepted cash. I understand it's their business and they can accepted whatever form of payment they want. But it wasn't posted anywhere in the restaurant. Honestly, it isn't difficult to have the cashier or manager write a cash only sign on the door or window. When I called to ask them why they didn't, the lady over the phone was hysterical. And I couldn't have ask in a more unconfrontational way. They're food is very grease and dry at the sametime pork and chicken didn't have any flavor. Overall it impressive at how a restaurant that lack so much survive for so long. I've seen better...

Located on Hacienda Blvd & Glendora Ave in the Hacienda Plaza by CVS with plenty of parking. Growing up in LP, this was a favorite for our family when it came to Chinese food. We've been coming here since the 90's and still love it. Same great genuine service and yummy food. Portions are very generous and do not compare with any other place I've tried. My favorite entree here has been their BBQ Pork and Orange Chicken, but honestly, I've enjoyed all their entrees. They also have party trays available for events. It has always been a great experience at Happy Wok, and I will continue to enjoy my childhood favorite place...
