Sabatinos Pizza Pasta and Wings — Restaurant in La Quinta

I eat at a lot of restaurants I always look and read several reviews before I go to any particular restaurant. This place gets two strikes strike one 93°in the dining room and I know this exact number because the thermostat on the wall said it was 93° strike two sugar in the spaghetti sauce. Real Italian food doesn’t have sugar in it. The portions were extremely large the service was good the pizza was real good. With a lot of toppings. The only downside to the pizza is it’s not hand tossed. Let’s face it nobody wants The extra time and effort that it takes to make the dough and then toss the pizza when you can just buy the boxes of premade. But the pizza was still good and I would go back again for another pizza. It’s just not that homemade taste that cannot be duplicated with factory made dough. I don’t wanna sound like I’m being real hard on this place because I did enjoy the food. But I am just a tough critic when it comes to my food. Plus I want anybody considering this place to see my review and understand that this is not authentic Italian food. I’m not gonna give them a strike for this but I think it’s important for people to understand when you go to pay your bill they turn the screen around to you so you can add a tip and the low tip percentage was 18% this is a self-serve restaurant where you order at the counter traditionally self-serve restaurants don’t get a tip let alone 18% there was an option to put in a custom amount or...

The pizza was great! The staff was friendly! The atmosphere was horrible! When you walk up to the door, there's a sign about keeping the door closed to keep the restaurant cool. Not an issue since it was 113 outside. Inside it was a cool 90! We couldn't check in to our AIR BNB for another hour so decided to stay and eat. They had fans going which didn't really help. I noticed a mini split that was off, figured it was broken otherwise why would it be off. So tell me why this person in the pictures sits for her break, says to herself "I need to turn this on," meaning the mini split and then sits to enjoy her food with cool air. Tell me why we sat for 40 minutes, sweating, for this person to come out and realize how hot it was turn on the cooler not for her patrons but for herself. Obviously she didn't care about us or her staff as they were visibly hot and flustered. I praise them because they still provided excellent service. Hopefully, they find management that takes care of them the same way. I can't see myself giving this place 1 star as the food/service was great. And I would eat here again, I'd just get it to go and eat in my car...

Ordered two cheese pizzas, first off the cheese was browned almost burnt. It’s probably not high quality cheese they use on the pizza. The sauce was awful on the pizza. The crust was decent but who cares lol. My stepfather ordered the wings just a six piece and they were so wet that you couldn’t taste anything but sauce. He struggled to get through four of them and left the other two. The wings were big but they weren’t good at all. Idk how this place even has above a 3.0 rating honestly but people obviously don’t know what good food is. Gordon Ramsay couldn’t save this place. I honestly didn’t want to eat here after seeing the atmosphere and ordering system but we gave it a shot. It’s really bad food and that’s the truth. I don’t leave a lot of reviews and the people were friendly here but the atmosphere, service and food suck. They brought our food out separately minutes apart. Who does that? You want to eat together not separately lol. If this place is in business in the next two years I will be surprised. Needs a makeover...
