La Quinta X Park — Attraction in La Quinta

I wanted to write this review about this slake park in La Quinta. Growing up, skate parks can be an easy way to make bad decisions, whether you hurt yourself or just hang out with stupid people while you're trying to have fun. Bad decisions can be made in one millisecond, and you can get hurt really badly. I was at the skate park the other day for one of my best friend's son's birthday party, and first of all, the skate park is absolutely amazing and beautifully designed. But more importantly, the staff - and I didn't meet all of them or catch all of their names - but there was this man named John, and he made sure everybody at the party had a good time. I briefly had a second to speak to him and share with him the joy I received by watching him teach these children how to skate or scooter, or pick themselves up when they fell. Maybe this is just a skate park, but John went way above what he needed to do as an employee, and because of him, all of our children really enjoyed their time there. John, I didn't catch your last name, and I don't know what your position is at the skate park, but I want you to know, and I want the community to know, that you do a really good job. Teaching and coaching is something that will last with our children for the rest of their lives, and I just want to say thank you to the skate park altogether, but I want everyone to know how awesome John is. Love this place! Having a skate shop, bathrooms, and refreshments available on-site makes a great overall experience. Cool staff that also rips as hard as anyone else keeps things clean, swept, and everything in check! Park offers lots of variety for beginners to the heaviest of hitters! Love seeing newbies getting comfortable in the pump track, us old times in the mini and mid sections, and the rippers shred the combi! Would give 6-Stars if there was shade one good slappie curb (without a death-drop into the pump track), and if the coffin was removed from the middle/blocking the mini half-pipe section! Besides that, 5 outa 5 from me! Super stoked this is in my neighborhood! I took the boys here for the first time today and the young man who checked us in was so kind that I was moved to write a review. I have to first acknowledge the manager, (also the roller soaking coach) for cultivating an outstanding staff and friendly environment The park is wonderfully set up with clean bathrooms, small shop and plenty of seating areas with picnic tables.
