Fog & Fern Coffee House — Restaurant in Lacey

Went here yesterday 13 April 2019 and I don’t know who the friendly staff was for all the other reviews, but they were not friendly at all. I walked in about 3 different people looked at me no one not one of them offered a good morning or a smiling face. Finally one of the ladies said what are you having today. I asked a question about the coffee she answered but she had no enthusiasm or desire to help me find a drink. However all the others who walked in after me were greeted with good mornings how are you etc. maybe they were regulars or maybe I just didn’t look like them. Either way I won’t be back. This is why when I’m not able to go to my usual spots I stick with Starbucks they typically have good customer service not saying they have never had any issues (as we know they have if you watch the news), but thankfully I have never had to endure any bad treatment from them. Long story short the coffee was really good, but I will never be back. Stopped by on a Sunday Morning after reading great reviews online about this local coffee shop. I was very pleased with the quality of food. The Caprese sandwich I ordered was so delicious! Chai tea Latte also very tasty. The dining area of cafe is very cozy, inviting, and clean. Also appreciated the glass all around the Cafe to take in the views of outside while enjoying your breakfast. My only negative feedback is based on poor customer provided by the young lady at the register. She lacked manners as far as saying thank you or your welcome. I thought it was something she forgot to do or didn't hear me say thank you at register. I tried saying thank you again twice at table when she dropped off the order but she just ignored me and walked away. Maybe she was having a bad day? but not sure if that's a great excuse to treat others so coldly when you're picked for a position that requires hospitality. Or maybe just poor planning on management's behalf?

The seating is hell. I have anxiety and hate going new places. I was meeting a friend here and this place stressed me out. I found a cute two person table, grab my tea, turn around, and some woman had claimed it with her personal items before ordering. There are a few tables in the center, all of which were claimed by two gentlemen, waiting for other people. So I had to stand awkwardly with my teacup and saucer, for some seats to open up. It happens, two comfy chairs and a little table. I briskly walk over and sit to wait for my friend. She arrives, we have a good time. We stand up to hug and say our goodbyes (my drink still on the table mind you) and this middle aged couple swoops in to sit down before we were even finished! It was ridiculous. The only redeeming factor was that the owner saw that we were unhappy, and ran out to the parking lot to ask us what had happened. He was nice. I just can't handle the seating, or...
