Started off with decent with the hostess stand , & was seated, waiter came around and took our drink orders and came back, waiter was moody and didn’t seem as if he truly wanted to be there he had (2) medium size tables an 8 top (not our table) and a 6 top (our table) that he was taking care of. He came to take our order and My parents got there a little bit after we did , so they still needed to look at the menu. He seemed put off by us asking for another moment to look over the menu. Food was ordered (fried pickles and the cheese sticks were over fried ) , as plates were coming out of the kitchen the staff that ran the food out to the table was pleasant and well mannered. Food was decent , but lacked flavor. We all ordered steaks except for (1) of us. 2 of the steaks were sent back one of the steaks was a 12oz NY Strip (this steak was so nasty - thick tendons were all throughout this cut of meat and it wasn’t even chewable, I only ate what I could and when I got to the thick I chewable portions of the steak I was to disgusted to even try to finish it , my knife wouldn’t cut through the meat and my teeth surely couldn’t either ) and the 8oz filet was over cooked and DRY !
We told our waiter and he notified the manager after telling us for 10 minutes that he was trying to find her and we joked and said she might be taking a nap and our waiter laughed and said wouldn’t be the 1st time …. RED FLAG !
After 15 minutes the manager “Brittany” came up to our table and started off the conversation with a little attitude and asked if I wanted another item to replace the steak I had just had & I declined and said no thank you I couldn’t stomach another steak especially after that gross steak that was brought out the first time. She said Okay I will only charge you for 1/2 the steak (there was 3/4 of the steak I was eating that was returned to the kitchen) . That comment caught both my mother and I off guard… when questioned why it wasn’t fully removed from the bill she got an attitude with us and said THAT’S ALL I’M GOING TO DO. (Most steakhouses with class typically comp that specific meal or item).
The manager walked away and brought back an updated receipt and handed it directly to my father, who wasn’t at the table when she came to speak with us the 1st time regarding the complaint about our steak so he had no idea what was going on. (He was outside on a business call).
When we asked her to explain what she did she got pissy and an even bigger attitude with us for questioning the bill. She “explained the bill” belittling and speaking down to my mother with ZERO RESPECT for her elders. The Manager
Brittany (the extremely disrespectful “manager”) turned to my father and said “I bet this is how they treat you at home.” Which is extremely disrespectful and uncalled for because SHE DOES NOT KNOW WHO WE ARE- SHE HAD NO RIGHT TO BE SUCH AN AWFUL PERSON.
Also While we were waiting for the bill we witnessed a server speak down and cuss at one of your busboys and the look on his face said it all… we were shocked that he just took that kind of verbal abuse and still kept on working (but with the disrespect we received from your manager we shouldn’t have been surprised) , we asked him if the staff speaks this way often to them and he said unfortunately this happens everyday and it not just to him it’s to everyone of them.
To the Owner’s of this establishment , I truly hope you do some reevaluations on some of your employees and Management , do an anonymous survey for your employees and see their remarks I bet you a lot of things would come to light that you...
Read moreOk-- let me preface this by saying that I've been in restaurant management for over 25 years and it takes a LOT for me to write a negative review. But this-- was quite possibly one of the worst restaurant experiences my husband and I have ever had. Our first warning sign was a family owned restaurant with a big ol "Now Hiring Servers".... when a family restaurant has server struggles-- that's never good. Friday night. No wait. The entire time we were there-- it never looked like a Friday night and that was our second sign.....We get seated-- and within 15 seconds the server was there-- which is great, but then the server got frustrated that we didn't know what we wanted to drink yet--- This was our cue to leave, and we should have left-- but... husband REALLY wanted a prime rib. So we soldiered on. Got our drinks ordered and our food. Salad came before we even had our drinks. Caesar salad-- with the dressing on the side?? Ok-- everyone is a little different, no big deal. Waited on the bread that never came. Got our meals. Husband ordered a rare prime rib. What he got was a seared prime rib. Now-- a prime rib... is a roast. There's no searing. A seared prime rib--- is a boneless ribeye. So-- he sent it back. Complete with an attitude from the server that he had to take it back. Came back out-- had to send it back again-- and this time husband asked for the kitchen manager so they could clear up the confusion. Finally got a prime rib that wasn't seared. Meanwhile-- I was pretty much done with what I could eat of my meal. Got a sirloin--- I don't expect much out of sirloin-- its a cheap cut of meat. But about 1/4 of my steak was gristle-- aaand also overcooked. This point-- still no rolls. Server never checked back to see how food was at this point. Husband's third attempt at the prime rib was still pretty inedible. Not sure how you manage to have a rare prime rib be the texture of shoe leather--- but that was the case. Ate less than half of it. Server quietly took the plates. Manager never checked back with us. Still never saw sight of any rolls. Paid our 60 dollar tab for two almost inedible cuts of meat and left. Server-- Unprofessional. Manager-- Unprofessional. Food-- Practically inedible. This was supposed to have been a special night out for us... and we would have been better off at...
Read moreAs a customer at the 8 top she mentioned above, I have been watching for a review so that I could leave my review on what occurred at Heitmiller. The older woman and her daughter who left this review were beyond disrespectful and hateful to everyone who came to the table. We watched with amusement at first, but quickly we took pity on anyone who had to speak to them. They spoke down to the server, who was eagerly trying to please them and obviously wanting nothing but their happiness (this is how they pay their bills, of course he wanted to ensure she was satisfied). When the manager arrived a few short minutes after she complained VERY LOUDLY about a steak that, from our table, appeared to be almost completely eaten, she began belittling the manager, (I assume her name was Brittany based on the review above), telling her she was from Lakeline and asked her condescendingly if someone from Bellmead even knew what a nice place like Lakeline was. They then laughed and proceeded to arrogantly demand all of their meals for free. The manager spoke calmly for awhile. When she returned with the ticket we were eager to see what would happen next, and began watching intently. The woman yells that the manager needs to come closer, while pointing a finger in her face and calling her like a dog. At this point the manager seems upset by the disrespect. After a few minutes of this terrible woman talking down on her, her staff, and the establishment, the manager tells her something along the lines of “respect will get you much further in life”, and walked away. They then began yelling after her, and ripped the receipt from the silent husband who was just trying to pay, tip, and leave.
Heitmiller will be lucky to never see these women again. We will be back to support Heitmiller steakhouse. The food was amazing, the service was great, and the restaurant was clean.
We hope no one takes this terrible review seriously. The world lacks decency and...
