I come to this Starbucks at least three times a week, before I go to work as a teacher. I drive 45 minutes out of my way to come here. I came Wednesday, and they had a sign that said temporarily closed. I get that, so I drove to the Lake Sumter Landing Starbucks, got my coffee and went to work. I come this morning, thinking surely they must be open, only to find an extremely long drive-thru line. I found that odd, but again I get that happens, so I decided to just go ahead and go inside seeing as I need to get to work. I get my child out of his car seat walk to the door to find that they are sorry for the inconvenience, but the will not be opening until seven. It was currently 6:55, hence the long line in the drive-thru. So I decided to stand there and wait. The barista’s inside saw me waiting, but I figured they were just waiting for 7:00 like the sign said. 7:00 comes and I’m still just waiting and waiting; they see me waiting. Then finally at 7:05 a barista comes knocks on the door and she points to the drive-thru. So then I point to the sign on the door that says we will re-open December 11 at 7 AM. She just shakes her head no at me and points to the drive-thru. If they were drive-thru only, no problem, but they should’ve had a sign on their door that said drive-thru only. And if they weren’t going to let me into the store, they should’ve let me know that the first time they saw me standing outside the door, instead of letting me stand outside for 10 minutes and then acting annoyed when they had to come tell me drive-thru only. I would’ve expected or at least appreciated them to open the door and say “I’m sorry ma’am, we can’t let you in. We are only serving through our drive-thru at this time.” But nothing. Instead, they acted like I was a nuisance, loitering outside of their establishment! I will never return. I can’t wait for the new Starbucks...
Read more10 AM on a Friday and long line at the drive through so went inside. Line much shorter but still slow. Think they are understaffed at peak periods by 1 employee who needs to ensure that each prep station is fully stocked with ALL the items for sale. For example, cheese Danish on display, order taken and item paid for, but not available at time of order fulfillment because there is not a floater available to support each prep station and check on saleable stock availability on the line. Prep and order entry folks were very nice but swamped with work, stretched too thin during AM peak period to try and restock while simultaneously doing order fulfillment which IMHO slows down overall production. Stopped at the condiment bar to add some cream and sugar to my coffee before leaving. The half & half carafe was totally empty. The whole milk carafe was almost empty too. Customers being customers are messy ( read as pigs ) and leave spilled sugar and dairy on bar's work surface. Used napkins adorned the same area too. Yuck. Again the line staff appear to be stretched to thin for resupply and housekeeping during peak periods. The noise level inside needs attenuation to reduce the overall din, almost gives one a headache and impedes verbal communication between customers...
Read moreCustomer service is hardly the bare minimum. I walked in since there were 5 cars in the drive through and I was the only person needing to order. There were about 6 people working and running around chaotic, all yelling things to each other. I was greeted at the register then ignored while she spoke with people about taking lunch. I wasn't sure she was talking to me when she finally did as she didn't even look at me. She took my order fine but didn't give a total or anything , when she finally noticed I hadn't paid after turning around to talk to someone, she just turned the credit card machine at me. While I paid, she turned around then walked away to discuss someone named Ashley. I don't know who Ashley is, but apparently noone wants anything to do with her when she comes in for her shift. I waited for her to come back so I could get a receipt, but I no longer existed. I walked away, and my drink and my items came quickly. I get that they were busy, but at least give me your full attention for the 2 minutes it takes to order and not be made to feel like a burden. The coffee was fine and the sandwich wasn't very warm and a bit cold in the middle. Rather than have to wait to be noticed again to reheat,...
