How unfortunately mediocre this place has become.
Ordering dinner (my one meal of the day) I was reminded that a small order of Caprese salad with bread and the chicken parmesan has "a lot of carbs." Thank you, Professor. How could I forget that eating bread with more bread would perhaps be loaded with carbs? Are you perhaps commenting on my physique? How perhaps I am fighting an eating disorder? I didn't know I would be criticized after having to work on my weekend off for 9 hours that my meal choice, again the only one of the day, would be under scrutiny of Sherlock himself? Ethan, I appreciate your eagle-eyed assessment of acknowledging that I order pasta at an Italian restaurant; a feat surely no other person has ever done before ever, but maybe keep it to yourself?
The Caprese was bland and dull (you didn't think to maybe outsource some local tomatoes? It's August. This is peak tomato season. Plenty of local farmers around to ask, they'd love to source a restaurant. Make it a special and push it?)
The Chicken Parm noodles were overdone and gooey. Maybe a teaspoon of Marinara sauce. I forgot there was cheese on it. Breading was soggy. And I don't think they thought to even attempt to season the chicken breast.
The only real silver lining I can think of is I'm glad my Grandmother died last year. Antoni's was one of her favorite places that we went to together and I'm fortunate she could at least dodge how disappointing it has become. Such a shame.
Just go to Cafe Bella instead. It's right across the street.
PS. Now there is no way ya'll could've possibly used ChatGPT to write the response hmm because it seems as white bread as the meal. You're currently reviewing the specials? All zero of them? Gave about as much an effort in your response as your...
Read moreVisited tonight with high expectations due to the reviews already posted about this place and we were not let down. The atmosphere is warm, sophisticated, and cozy, with a gentle upscale vibe. Our waitress was Casie and she was so sweet and helpful as this was our first visit. Drinks, appetizers, and even our meals arrived prompt. We didn't wait long for anything. Casie made sure our drinks stayed full without us having to ask for refills. For appetizer, we got the Garlic Focaccia bread with cheese and marinara (not pictured; it didn't last long enough!). I also ordered a side of roasted garlic. Let me put you on: the garlic is so soft you can actually use it as a spread. Spread that over your cheese bread, then spread some marinara on top. You can thank me later! For our entrées, my husband ordered the Snapper Special. He couldn't stop commenting to me about how his dish was absolutely perfect and generous portions too! I opted for the Chicken Parmesean. The only complaints I have was that I typically prefer a thinner cut of chicken breast with crispy breading for Chicken Parmesean. The breading was a bit soggier than I'd like, but was so flavorful and delicious. The Pecorino Romano cream sauce they put on top is TO DIE FOR. I'd eat that stuff like soup. Seriously. If you're on the fence about trying Antoni's, let me assure you, you will not be disappointed. The service, food, and atmosphere were phenomenal and we will definitely be back to try...
Read moreHad an unsoUNpleasant EXPERIENCE. When I arrived, a couple behind me got greeted immediately & warmly, unlike mine. It was definitely not welcoming. During some of my visit, I felt that I was invisible. Both two top tables had the red carpet attention... I was asked twice what would I like to order, the second time. Less than a minute after i ordered the 1st time! During the meal. Other customers were warmly visited by numerous staff members!. Nearing the end of the meal, I had to wave the attention of the manager and it didn't work. Both pair of customers heard me clearly as they turned around to see what's up. Waiting for my dessert... it's been about 10 minutes. The wait staff were polite when they visited my table... As a one top... I'm spending 1/2 of what the others spend. I ordered a cocktail, less than 1/2 glass a whooping $10. appetizer, Bolognese lasagna (was tasty, but watery) and dessert, a lopsided tiramisu with a huge "chilled" soupspoon. The outdoor seating was 🙂 nice for small seating. 2 to 3 people as it's a bit crowded.
If the service was more attentive.... . Especially from the management... I would rated 3.5 star. Seeking for another all time favorite Italian place in Lafayette, La
Wake up manager lady, Who visited the customer 8 times during my visit along with the entire restaurant staff.
It's good to have a conversation but not loud enough for the whole customer area to...
