I'll be honest, I was fully prepared to leave a 1 star review because initially, our first visit to this location was an all around mess. From the time we walked through the door, to time we were seated, and received table service, or even beverages, we'd been there for at least an hour, & that was AFTER being quoted a 15 minute wait. We finally called over a manager, because we couldn't understand what was going on. It was busy, yes, but not slammed. We just didn't think we should have waited 20 minutes AFTER being seated to even see our waitress, or receive our drinks. But the manager was quite professional, & kindly explained that they'd had several employees call off, & the limited staff they did have were really stretched thin. And we began to empathize. It's truly ridiculous how overwhelmed, & understaffed the service industry is, nowadays. It's like so very few want to actually work, & it's little wonder why so many are finding it an impossible minefield to maneuver. It's become a mess for servers, & customers alike. The manager was really on his game, hopping from one station to another, & he was a true pro. He did give us a discount on our meal without even being requested, & I truly appreciated that. The food, itself, was excellent, & the portions were quite large. No complaints on that. I didn't take it out on the waitress in the end. I did tip her more than I was initially prepared to. I just hope for everyone's sake that the overall field of dining out improves. It should never be a stressful experience for either side. And trust me, when most of the employees look like they don't even want to be there, the customers...
Read moremy wife and I went to bob evans for dinner there was no one at the host stand we waited and waited and no one came so we went up to the counter and called out that's when one of the staff members came out and sat us down I ordered an Iced tea and my wife just a water when the drinks came my tea had NO ICE!!! how is it an iced tea with out any ice that's just tea. then we ordered a farmers choice to share because my wife had surgery and can only eat a little due to lack of an appetite. when the food came I picked up the sausage patty with my fork and when I did there was a crunch I flipped It over pure black I hate burnt sausage. that wasn't the worst part the inside was RAW. like how you burn one side and the inside be raw. I then asked for the manager and it was a female. she said that it was fine and I should stop complaining nd that they couldn't remake the food because they were closing in 15 minutes. I forgot her name it started with an "n". I got up and I said then we are leaving she said good get out we went to walk out but she said in the most hateful voice you have to pay, we didn't even take a bite of the food. we had to go to Denny's there food was actually pretty tasty. I will not be coming back to this establishment and recommend Denny's. I will not come back until that...
Read moreI got a small or "cup" of biscuits and sausage gravy, which is a brown or tan gravy they are known for and I personally like, I got a order of shredded hash browns and three strips of bacon, I knew from a previous order that there wasn't enough sausage gravy for me with a small or "Cup" of biscuits and gravy and definitely not enough if you like gravy on your hash browns so I ordered a side of sausage gravy with my order and that was more than enough for the entire meal, I called it in from about 5 minutes away and arrived and only waited for a short time to get my order, I was very satisfied with the speed of the entire carry out process and the quality of the meal but I believe the price was high for what you get and the portions if sausage gravy was to small for the price, the cost was over $13 plus I tipped mostly because of the prompt service, 4 out of 5 stars is normally my highest rating simply because it is hard to have the perfect experience dining out these days, but my experience at bob Evans was worth a 4 star...
