I made the mistake of not reading reviews, just went through my Bonvoy account to reserve a room for a couple days near Purdue (moving in our son). I don't think I've ever stayed in such a horrible hotel, and certainly not a Marriott that was this bad. ||||We had a 2-bedroom suite because my son was with us, checking into his dorm the next morning. We know these types of hotels are not ritzy, but very practical, with the space and comforts that are ideal for a family. But this one does not even have that. ||||TVs - only one functioning of the 3. ||Microwave - lights were on, but inoperable (sitting on counter, door didn't close properly - which is likely why it wouldn't work)||Bathtub - you could use the shower, but toggle was broken so you couldn't switch to use the bath||Beds - maybe double size? they're small. ||A/C - it was really hot in the rooms, marginally better if you leave the bedroom doors open, but even setting it in the sixties we had trouble sleeping.||Lights/Traffic - this is right on major highway with bright security lights and loud traffic. This would affect any hotel on that corner, just including so you know. ||||We checked in, went off to buy things for my son's room, and have dinner. When we came back, I discovered all the problems with the room. Knowing it was probably fully booked w/move in, I went downstairs to ask if we could move for the 2nd night. The overnight guy (didn't get his name) absolutely went off - I felt physically threatened even approaching the desk because he was making inappropriate comments. He was completely unhinged and accused me of reporting these items at night to give him grief. I explained we didn't know about the issues at check-in because we had gone to dinner. It is the most bizarre conversation I've ever experienced in a hotel. I did my best to talk him down (I used to work in a psychiatric hospital), and he finally said he would put in the maintenance requests and contact the manager. ||||After checking in my son the next day, we returned late afternoon and thankfully there was a different person at the desk named Vanessa. She was more approachable so I explained the maintenance issues, and she affirmed that they had been 100% full the night before but could make a switch for the second night. She moved us to a much nicer room on the first floor with a built-in microwave that worked, with functioning tv's and restrooms, and a basket of treats. It was lovely and I would've stayed in there for a few days. I want to underline that Vanessa was very professional and wonderful to deal with. ||||I'm still leaving the review itself at one star because when you check into a hotel you shouldn't feel physically threatened by a night desk clerk, and you shouldn't be given a room in which there are a multitude of things not working. It makes me really wonder about the owner of this franchise and it's a big red flag. Until this hotel gets its act together, I'd avoid it. If the issue really is that they are renovating, then that should be on the Marriott page, and guests should not pay $790 as we did, and only have a decent room for one...
Read moreI'm only giving this one star because I have to give it a star, otherwise they would get none. I won't stay here ever again. I'm extremely disappointed. I stayed several times over a 4 week period. A couple times was for a couple weeks in a row. My very first night there the air conditioner didn't work and the tv didn't work. I let the front desk know and they sent 2 maintenance guys up. They brought a new tv in and changed the whole air conditioning unit while I sat in the room. I was never offered anything for this happening. I just let it go and thought things happen I get it. I told my co workers that travel also about this place and they started staying here. One of them had the same problem with the air conditioner in her room. She was however upgraded to a suite. I stayed again and enjoyed my stay until I received my credit card statement. They charged me an extra $370 that shouldn't have ever been charged. When I called to find out why I was treated extremely rude, talked over when I tried to say anything. I was never told about this at check out, I was never told about this when I came in the next week to stay. I was told they only charged me $230 when I clearly have the bank statement and can see exactly what they charged me. When I asked why I was being charged they told me it was for smoking in the room. Not once did I ever smoke in the room. When asked for any kind of proof or if they saw anything they had nothing and just said they smelled smoke. I then said that could have came from any room. I want evidence that I smoked in this room. Of course there wasn't any because it never happened. I have then called my coworkers to let them no what had happened and to make sure that they check their cards to make sure the same thing isn't happening to them. We have a fairly large company in Lafayette, Indiana and we had all started staying at this hotel. Not now, I've let everyone know what I was charged and how I was treated terrible when I called in to find out why. I was all but told sorry about your luck your getting charged I don't care what you have to say I'm not listening to you. It's by far the worst hotel service I've ever had. That's not just a little bit of money they took. And it should have never happened in the first place. They won't be getting my business or any of our company's...
Read moreI stayed here for about 45 days and the only reason I didn’t leave early is because it was prepaid.
Donna and Tonya are the only reason this place is getting more than 1 star.
Tonya makes a fantastic breakfast and she is a pleasure to be around.
Donna does her best to make you comfortable and radiates kindness.
That being said during my stay I had the following issues:
BED BUGS!!!! Major hygiene issues including dirty sheets, a pillow that smelled like cat pee, dirty cabinets, dirty shower, unwashed dishes Struggled to get my room serviced because of my dog who was in a closed crate when I was not around. I got told by the manager that the cleaning people won’t go in rooms if there’s a dog in them at all and that’s their policy, which it’s not. The policy is that animals need to be in crates or carriers. Lack of communication, unless told you wouldn’t know there’s a washer and dryer onsite on the second floor. Didn’t learn that until I got moved rooms after the BED BUGS. Seems like something a guest who’s gonna be there for a month and a half should be told at check in. Even after finding out there is laundry, I learned after washing my clothes the dryer was broken. All 4 of them. Thankfully Donna dried my clothes for me in the industrial dryers they have in the back. Multiple days the breakfast area just wasn’t open until late so anyone going to work had to just leave before they could get breakfast The rooms that were “just renovated” had construction debris in them and were missing pots, pans, etc. Towels by the pool were often just empty completely A cicada lived in the ceiling of my room which was as annoying as it sounds There were also a ton of bugs that made their way inside including the aforementioned BED BUGS and cicada, also silverfish, crickets, ants. Both the manager and assistant manager let me know there is little to no communication between the front desk folks and the cleaning folks because of language barriers which explains why so many of these issues are persistent
Honestly there’s probably more I can’t remember but overall I would not stay here again. I ended up moving to the Homewood Suites down the road and it is a dramatic...
