Disc Replay Lafayette — Local services in Lafayette

After almost 2 decades of loyalty they blocked me,took away my rewards, over a non rude truthful comment about the prices being way higher then market.

This place has turned as bad as game stop and scalpers. Selling a $40 sonic game at $80 this place has become like heritage auctions and Wata, scam artists.They have become a nationwide mega corporation but still run under the radar as local small businesses. I've noticed as soon as they got big enough not to care, that's exactly what they started doing, not caring.

Kills me to change this review from 5 star to negative. But don't block a 2 decade old customer who has spent 10's of thousands over the years. What's worse it was over an honest non threatening opinion about something being double market value. Just removing the comment would of been enough.They had $80 on a Rocksmith and all I said was eBay market value is $40 so this is a bit expensive and added to it and said last two times I was in there they didn't even greet me or talk to me.

These where ppl that I've talked to many times kinda felt close to a few of em.You'd think with how the economy is going they'd value loyal customers and try to cut prices.But some of its becoming DK oldies prices, eBay prices or more. I've also saw a few employees buying the games directly for their store offer price from ppl and never catalog it into the system.They hardly have anything rare cause the employees are buying it at pawnshop prices.Probably taking it home and selling on eBay for 4 X's the price they bought it for.

I probably would of never brought that up but the place has just become rotten to the core. They don't even pay their employees a living wage so I kinda understood why it was happening. Another reason for the over priced items is so ppl will come in and trade a ton of stuff for it.So they can turn even more profit. I can no longer support this place and will shop at the Game Emporium,The Retro shop and online. This place has gone downhill. I’ve been coming to disc replay for over 10 years. I’ve bought all of my consoles and all of my games and movies here, spending thousands of dollars here. The last few times I have been in there was a huge disappointment. The employees don’t care about customer service anymore. I always call beforehand because I live 45 minutes away. I called at 5pm to see if they had a PS4 or PS5 because I’ve been contemplating on buying one for months. I spoke with Charlie and he told me they had a few consoles of the PS4 and the PS5. I was stoked! I wiped my Xbox one clean of my accounts and all games and headed straight to disc replay. I walk in and talk with Charlie and handed him all of my games and console with controller. He informs me that it will be about 45 minutes, which is reasonable. On my way out I go to look at the consoles and they have no PS4’s. I told Charlie I just spoke with him 45 minutes ago and he informed me that they had a few consoles of each.. He said they must have sold the PS4 consoles in a matter of 45 minutes, which I do not believe because if you would have sold them, you would have said so instead of saying we MUST HAVE sold them. Even though I’m irritated, I still considered buying a PS5. The price of a USED PS5…. $450!! A brand new one is $500. Why would I purchase a used one when I can buy a brand new one for $50 more? Sold me a reproduction cartridge for 50 dollars during my last game purchase and during the purchase prior to that I was sold a cracked disc which was a hassle to return. Can’t say I am overly impressed.

Edit/response to owner: purchases were made in 2023 but I did not find out that the game was fake until way after the return policy allowed a return. As such I have never returned to the store until the day i left this review because my son wanted to purchase a funko pop. Being in the store reminded me that i had never shared my experience. I was sold the broken disc using a discount for 10 in store visits which they would not let me use on another game despite being sold the cracked xbox 360 game so i was sold broken merchandise and not allowed to use the discount on anything else and the visit after was the reproduction gba cartridge for “Tales of Phantasia”. I understand i am well past the window for returns so I am just sharing my honest experience in your store and the fact that I never returned afterwards due to poor service.
