One of the nicest hotels I've stayed at in a while... Very modern. Landscaping was beautifully done and manicured, with very professionally done flower layouts and trimmed bushes, nicely mulched. Upon entry at check-in, you are provided warm large chocolate chip cookies for all guests. Beautiful lobby entry area with a giant glass enclosed fire table that changes colors. Nice sitting area in lobby that has a wall of TVs with different programs close captioned. Bar area to get drinks. Nice fire pit with cushy lounging chairs and propane heating towers, just outside the bar area. All staff was very friendly and accommodating. Very nice hot breakfast layout, however not free unless it's part of your stay package. The rooms were clean and modern contemporary. Very comfortable beds that had a very cushy top but not too much where they sag, firm underneath. All bedding, comforter, and pillows were down filled and very nice. The TV was very new and large, somewhere around 42". Mini fridge and desk area. The Keurig coffee maker in room was a nice plus. The bathroom was very nice and modern, barn door style door, marble counters, name brand toilet paper, lavender shampoo and conditioner, and a huge roomy shower with all glass doors. Keyless entry is available although I didn't use it. My family used the pool area, which was very clean and nicely done, water in pool was heated around 80 degrees , and the hot tub was around 8x8feet square and also seemed to be very new and nicely designed and modern. The pool closes at 10:00 however we were in there til around 10:20 and no one informed us to get out. Adjacent to the pool was a good size workout room with nice equipment, although I did not use the room. My only negatives would be the odd layout of the hotel, leaving you with a possible long walk to your room. The elevators were oddly small, only a problem if you're claustrophobic. And breakfast is not free. Based on all of the above, the quality of this modern hotel was so impressive I had to give it 5 stars. Cost was around $114 a night at the time.. very reasonable for what you experience. Highly...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. Picked this spot based on online reviews and photos. It's a beautiful, clean and modern hotel. We were warmly greeted by staff (Julian) and a cookie.
Here's what went wrong: • Toilet broken and remained so until check-out • Coffee maker broken • "Hot" tub same temperature of pool in evening and morning • Told front desk staff and was assured that the manager would be briefed and would call me the next morning. Nothing. Nada. Manager had no clue and I had to re-explain story.
We arrived in the evening (2 parents, 2 young kids, 1 grandma) and had reserved 2 rooms. We didn't realize the toilet was broken until the early morning (it was broken before we arrived). As soon as we knew it was, we called to have someone fix it. We were told it would be "a few minutes". A few hours had gone by and it was time to check out, no one arrived to fix the toilet. We were lucky enough to have another room (grandma's) to use the bathroom in but it wasn't the most convenient. Grandma's coffeemaker was broken. Hot tub was lukewarm—like bathwater. TV in the workout room had several remotes and 1 channel came in. All these little things started to add up.
This is the first hotel we've stayed in since my husband's cancer recovery/bone marrow transplant. We really wanted it to be special for the whole family—but lots of things seemed to not be going right. He is not even allowed in public swimming areas but we were so convinced that this place looked clean—so he entered the hot tub, disappointing.
I spoke to the manager and she said that the place was still very new. She was able to refund one room (the front desk staff had mentioned possibly both) and the front desk staff had not informed her of anything.
This looked like a gem considering what was around it—for...
Read moreEasily the nicest mainline Hilton property I’ve stayed in, only Canopy and Curio properties have beat it.
The king corner suite is well appointed, perfectly up to date, comfortable, quiet, and cool. The AC stays on even when you aren’t moving around—it is nice not having to bother with overriding the thermostat.
The bathroom is elegant, featuring a spacious sliding-door shower and decent sized counter. A dry bar in the suite has a standard fridge, keurig, and microwave. Although it is on the firm side, the bed provides the comfort you would expect from a DT or HGI.
Ignore the people complaining about the elevator. It carries your body up 6 stories, what more do you want?
My only complaint is that the pillows go completely flat, so needed 3 for side sleeping. I didn’t call to see if they had different pillows, but I’m sure the extremely courteous staff would have sent one up.
During COVID: call ahead if you are expecting amenities! Although the county and state are almost completely open, the hotel is not operating any component of the restaurant or room service. The pool and gym are also closed. This was disappointing, and the paltry selection of refrigerated snacks and drinks, of which you are only allowed 2, is embarrassing.
Hilton Clean Stay standards were definitely being met! I was pleased to see this, as the Hampton I stayed at elsewhere hadn’t even heard of the policy.
Would be nice to see discounted rates or a boost of bonus points for the closure...
