Had a late lunch at The Country Cafe in Lafayette on a Monday, and it totally hit the spot. Walked in, got seated right away—no wait at all. My server was right there with a smile, took my drink order fast, and handed me a menu without any delay. Friendly, efficient, and exactly the kind of service you hope for when you're just looking for a good meal without the fuss.

I went with the chicken fried steak, and I’ve gotta say—it didn’t disappoint one bit. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the breading had that perfect golden crunch. Yummy. I was a little disappointed in this restaurant last time I got Country Cafe. They have delicious food at this particular location, but they weren't doing well with responding to online orders 2 visits ago. Last visit, the online option was completely down, so I chose another location that did respond. It was... horrible. I found hair in both of my dishes. One of them looked like the nose or mustache hair of a grown man. Now that this location has gotten with the times, they deserve the full 5 stars. I understand the difficulty in transitioning to something new when you are used to the old way, but they will definitely be bring in more revenue now.
