Denny's — Restaurant in Lafayette

One star bc zero stars wasn't an option. Easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in years. Our server Linda and the manager who's name conveniently wasn't displayed or given were unattentive and dismissive of our complaints. We waited for about 45mins for an avocado chicken caesar salad, an appetizer platter and an american slam. They seemed to only have the manager and one server on the clock and what can only be one person in the kitchen. They were not busy. Maybe 4 tables in the entire dining room. After our order was taken we didn't see Linda again until 45mins later when our food came out; which didn't even come out until one of our party got up and asked about it. She never came to check on us, let us know it was taking long or refill our waters. Other tables got sat and were not greeted or if they were their drinks took 20mins bc "I keep getting interrupted". When our food finally did come the lettuce in the salad was disgusting, brown and wilted. When we pointed this out there was no apology, just a reluctant offer to take it off the bill, "that's just the lettuce we have bagged up". Any cook or server worth their salt wouldn't have brought it to the table. They would come tell us, 'hey, we're very sorry but our lettuce isn't very fresh. Can we get you something else?' I've been in food service for over a decade and nothing about our experience was acceptable. The manager was dismissive and got an attitude with us when we told her we were leaving without eating any of it and not paying bc we waited so long and our friend's salad was inedible as well as pointing out that another table was getting similar unacceptable service or lack thereof. Worst dennys I've ever been to. Glo, our server, only visited our table to drop off food and never offered refils until we were leaving. After sitting waiting for her to visit our table in the first place for over 15 minutes, she proceeded to take 15 minutes after that to come visit our table again to take our order. It's like she had a timer in the back and would only go out every 15 minutes. After 30 minutes of being there she finally tool our order, only to bring our appetizer out (nachos) within 1 minute of our lunch (burgers). Because she had waited so long the chips were soggy and the burger was also very bland. It's like they didn't even put salt in it. After all that we asked for our bill and she spent 5 minutes chit chatting with customers on her way back to bring it to us. When I was checking out and paying the bill she hung around and stood there telling new customers that they simply would have to wait 20 minutes or more for a table because there were none open. There were. We had just left our table but she neither bused it nor tried to wipe it down in the 10 minutes it took to checkout and she jist stood there leaning against the counter. Worst place ever. Family went and as soon as all of us (7) came in the manager refused to stay us in our requested area because she said she was about to be the only waitress and her manager wouldn't allow her. Found out this was a lie because she was the only manager there and there were 2 other waitresses. Our waitress was a Hispanic lady who could barely understand English and didn't know a thing about the menu. She came back with all incorrect food after we waited an hour for our food. When my little brother got up to go to the bathroom the manager was watching him as if he was going to leave the place and like we were going to skip out on the bill. She whispered to our waitress and I watched her look over at us to tell her to watch us and then when she noticed i was watching she took our waitress to the back to tell her to watch us. HIGHLY DISRESPECTFUL. We asked for the check and explained we didn't appreciate being discriminsted against. She then went into a whole convo on how she's "not racist" and "all my kids are half Puerto Rican" as if it mattered plus we NEVER called her racist. This was THE WORST...
