Louisiana Poboys - Johnston — Restaurant in Lafayette

We recently started eating here again. Our first visit, the new waitress put a food tray directly on top of another tray, sitting the dirty bottom of it on top of one of the burgers and fries we ordered. Gross! The 3rd time we visited, mold came out of the drink machine. As much as I have loved this place over there years, staff is not the same and we are officially done eating here.

I’ve had a 5 star review on this restaurant for nearly 5 years, and have been eating here frequently for about 8-9.

They used to have round bacon for the burgers, which was the main attraction. Unfortunately the round bacon went when they opened a 2nd location and needed to cut costs on the bacon. It’s not quite as good as...

Nice, clean, and quiet location. Decided to try it out at the last minute. Not a lot of people, as it was a late lunch for us. We weren't really sure what to do when we first walked in because it was our first time here. We walked to the counter, placed our order, then found a spot to sit, and they brought the food out to you. I picked a half crawfish poboy with fries (wished there was a grilled option for the crawfish, I am not a huge fan of fried foods) and my husband got the seafood platter that came with catfish, shrimp, oysters, fries, hushpuppies, and a side salad. Visited this poboy shop for the first time today. I had the Homestyle Hamburger special. I know, I know, it's a poboy place, but hey, I wanted a good burger. And I must say a good burger is what I received. Since everything is made to order, and my buddy got a seafood platter, the food took a little while to get to us, but when it did, it was well worth the wait. The only other critique I might have is that the setup looks a little strange. It seems to be set up cafeteria-style, when it is not at all cafeteria food.
