Zoonie's Candy Shop — Restaurant in Lafayette

I was filled with so much nostalgia when i walked into Zoonie's. I'm originally from San Jose and grew up going to Powell's (now Willow Glen Sweet Shoppe). I always loved that I was able to sit down and watch Willy Wonka which is one of my favorite movies. I don't go down to San Jose often, so having Zoonie's so close to me is awesome! I appreciate the variety of candy that is sold here. Currently due to the pandemic you need to ask an associate to bag your candy from the bulk bins or you can simply grab a bag that's packed towards the middle area of the bulk bins. I grabbed a variety of sour belts that were already packaged which made the process even easier! I honestly wasn't a fan of putting the candy in bags myself. There is also gelato which I will have to grab next time! I definitely recommend this candy store to anyone who has a sweet tooth as you can spend hours going through all the candy and also watch Willy Wonka while...

I was filled with so much nostalgia when I walked Zoonie’s yesterday. This store carries classic candies from my childhood, many that I’ve never seen before too!

Huge selection of merchandise, and the offerings are reasonably priced too. There are toys, tin lunch boxes, gelatos, homemade confections, self serve candies (sold by the lbs), individually packaged candies, and classic soda pops too!

There is also an area where you can sit and watch a movie. The Wizard of OZ was being played during my visit, and you may sit in one of the three chairs while you're there!

Fun old school candy shoppe. Great selection of candies. Some old favorites and some you'll never have heard of. Classic tasty sodas, the real sugar kinds. Huge pez selection. Beautiful chocolate confections. Plus sorbet that is really the best around. And, maybe best of all, unlike so many other shoppes like this, it is not so overstuffed with junk that you can't walk around and see anything. This one has roomy aisles around thendisplays, so you can really look and appreciate the merchandise. ...
