Local Groundz Coffee Company — Restaurant in LaGrange

I never leave reviews honestly so for me to do this a nerve was really struck. I’ve never in my life experienced anything like this before and i honestly didn’t think I ever would lol. Starbucks is currently temporarily closed due to remodeling and that’s where i typically go. This was my first and last time here! My little sister wanted to try it out because her friends kept telling her how good the cake pops were. They were disgusting lol. Everyone was greeted with smile, giggles, and a goodmorning. Even a DOG that came up to the window got way more respect than me and my sister. We were only black people in there lol so of course i assumed that’s why. The energy was off when being talked to. Screw faces and what not. The coffee was honestly horrible and so was the cake pop. It was more of a dry crumbly brownie. The only thing that was alright was the chicken salad panini which was a bit too salty unfortunately. Will never come back and i don’t recommend this place to anyone. Didn’t feel welcomed at all. The wait time was good. The lady at the register was sweet! Wish i got her name. Cute quiet place… that’s about all that’s good about it in my opinion. I made plans to visit local groundz based on recommendation from a friend. I was taken aback by the standard of service. It was definitely well below par. The young lady that took my order was unprofessional and unwelcoming. She handed me by receipt from a distance, asked if I'd prefer my food to go and brought my cafe beverage to me and quickly walked away. It felt like 1965 in 2025. I really wish I hadnt had this experience as I was really looking forward to visiting this coffee shop, its such a nice venue but because of my experience, I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Food was great, coffee was good too. Unfortunately it took the 2 staff members almost 45 minutes to make the one iced coffee and package the 2 pastries. Keeping in mind it was a beautiful Saturday morning and a lot of people were out. The patrons came in a steady stream, no big rush at one time. Several people asked for refunds due to the wait. 3 staff would have made all the difference. A great recommendation comes when all the major areas of a business are covered.
