Adolfo's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Laguna Beach

OMFG, the food's to die for!! It's some of the best Mexican food of my life!! Plus, portion sizes are very generous! My Carne Asada taco was bursting w/steak, covered w/chz & topped w/lettuce, which is exactly opposite of most restaurants. Our pix illustrates a Carne Asada & bean burrito combo (w/beans & rice), & a chz enchilada w/molé sauce & a Carne Asada taco, both alacarte. It's so delicious, our return vacation's going to definitely include a few more meals at Aldolfo's, so we can share with friends & family....

Usually, I like hole-in-the wall restaurants. They are family owned and mostly, grandma is cooking!! HOWEVER, this place was a disappointment! I got two tacos. The carnesada tortilla was stale and the meat had an "I am old meat" taste!! The fish taco was better but was not really great. She also charged me for onion and cilantro!!!??? (I didn't realize it didn't come with it!) The Rojo salsa tasted like tomato soup. The Verde one was somewhat better. It is too bad, this place has potential....

The food was okay but not as advertised in the menu. I ordered a California burrito because it had two of my favorite things: fries and guacamole. The burrito I received had fries but absolutely zero guacamole. I was upset and annoyed at this especially when I saw the couple next to us enjoying some of their guacamole. If you’re not planning to put an ingredient inside, don’t claim to put it in. And definitely don’t charge more for a dish/ingredient you’re not...
