Café Heidelberg is an absolute gem in Laguna Beach, offering a delightful blend of European charm and California flair! From the moment you walk in, the warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel right at home. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee, this place never disappoints.
Their Breakfast Burrito is a must-try—packed with fluffy eggs, crispy potatoes, savory bacon, and just the right amount of cheese, all wrapped in a perfectly toasted tortilla. It’s hearty, flavorful, and the ideal way to start your day. And if you’re in the mood for something a bit more indulgent, their Salmon Benedict is absolutely divine. The poached eggs are perfectly cooked, the smoked salmon is rich and flavorful, and the hollandaise sauce is creamy with just the right tang. Paired with their crispy hash browns, it’s a breakfast masterpiece.
The coffee here is also excellent, and they offer a great selection of pastries and baked goods if you’re looking for something lighter. The outdoor patio is a lovely spot to enjoy your meal, especially on a sunny Laguna morning.
What really sets Café Heidelberg apart is the attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients. Everything feels fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and served with a smile. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this place is a must-visit. Five stars all the way—Café Heidelberg is a true Laguna...
Read moreBeautiful little cafe right by the beach (there's actually a little entrance and stairs that leads to an area of the beach you can wet your feet at if you walk about 10 minutes down the street). There's no parking lot that I know of, so we parked in on the street (that's metered) and walked our way to the cafe front. It's a order and self-seating system and thankfully it wasn't too busy yet when we came at 11:00AM (probably only 3ish tables at the time we came). They have indoor and patio seating, their patio is pet friendly as we saw many fur kids eating with their parents.
I ordered an egg white vegetarian omelette and the boyfriend ordered a croque madame (basically a boiled ham and cheese sandwich topped with a fried egg). The omelette tasted yummy filled with zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach with a side of roasted potatoes. Loved the potatoes, it was nicely seasoned and soft, went very well with the egg white omelette. But our favorite part of the meal was their raspberry jam (I think they make it themselves) because it tasted very homemade, but very delicious. It was scrumptious with the multigrain bread that was served with our meal. Overall had a very homey taste to their food and the view was beautiful. The staff were all very friendly and helpful in making sure we got our dishes right. We sat out in the patio and enjoyed the beautiful blue sky and...
Read moreAfter reading pretty good reviews about this place I decided to try it, however just to be clear our comments are nothing personal is just our opinions. I visited this place almost 2 weeks ago, was Saturday I had the herbed omelette and mango smoothie. The omelette was nothing to be surprised at all, didn't really taste plus I don't like to add any kind of sauce or ketchup, I like to enjoy the way it is. Some diced potatoes were hard like over fried, it was around 2 pm , wasn't overcrowded at all. Mango Smoothie was obviously powder flavor . Didn't take too long till I got the food. I sat down in front of the restaurant to enjoy the view. While I was eating I went to the front to get some more water to the container placed on top of the counter and The girl who took my order was also there, then she asked me how's the food. Honestly first time I was asked how's food when I have to go to get water, meaning if I don't get water nobody asked . I thought they have to go to the costumers to ask how's everything , I guess this is something new, that costumers have to go and if we are seen we get to be asked how's the food. anyway this girl is very friendly no comments at all, my point is someone has to keep an eye of...
