When we first got there, the drive-thru was closed. They did not have enough employees to run the drive-thru, so we had to go inside. Okay, I can live with that. We go inside and order two fish sandwiches and would like an a la carte shrimp. Well, unfortunately, cashier had no idea what he was doing - obviously very new to the job - and could not find the a la carte shrimp. Okay, scratch the shrimp and just give us the fish sandwiches. Waited for 20 minutes before the fish sandwiches were given to us. There were only four other customers in the restaurant. The sandwiches were mediocre. It's definitely not something I would come back for. We decided to bring an order of chicken tenders and wings home with us. Had ordered them 5 minutes after our first order. After finishing our meal and waiting for an additional 10 minutes, our order still wasn't up. Finally got their attention, and they never made the order. So, another 15 minutes of waiting for our second order to go. Got home and was passing out the to go order, and the order was completely wrong. Super hot wings instead of the parmesan ones. Only got four chicken tenders instead of the six we ordered and were charged for. Then, going through the receipt, I realized they also charge a food tax, which is completely ridiculous since they've raised their prices already to cover the new employment wages. So, overall, very unhappy experience. I understand about being short-staffed, but it wasn't even a busy time, and we were still waiting almost 20 minutes for our food. They need to get their act together. This was my second venture out to a popeyes. I swore the first time I would never go back because the food was horrific. I decided to give it another chance tonight, but I am back to my original decision of...
Read moreMy first visit here because I hadn’t had Popeye’s in years. The TV ads sure make the chicken sound good…they had my attention there. As I had a Sunday chicken craving, yet of course Chick-Fil-A as my new go to is closed that day of the week…so I drive on over to try Popeye’s.
I think this place was understaffed due to long wait times with about 5 minutes each for the couple cars in front of me.
The food itself was edible I guess, yet disappointing. I had the #5 combo meal: 3-piece original chicken tenders, biscuit, fries and soda. The chicken couldn’t have been more flavorless, but it was still somewhat tasty some reason probably because I was hungry. The chicken still had some crunch to it, but not enough to make you forget the price or lack of flavor. It was supposed to have ranch dip, but they forgot that. Not a big deal, but dip with chicken is pretty standard, especially at these prices!!! Then the regular Coca-Cola tasted noticeably off and syrupy—that hasn’t happened in a while anywhere—but I at least liked the biscuit and the fries. However if you want truly great fast food fries, head on over to KFC for their seasoned fries.
So…would I go back again to maybe try something else? NO! I mean, maybe I’ll forget about this experience and try a chicken sandwich next time, but it’s assuredly not on my urgent to-do list after this disappointing combo meal.
Popeye’s makes me appreciate Chick-Fil-A’s chicken even more!!!
This place needs more staff and/or better service. Sorry guys. Go to the IN-N-OUT next to it and save yourself some ca$h likely as well for better food and likely faster wait times despite IN-N-OUT’s usual...
Read moreMy husband and I had an incredibly frustrating experience at this Popeyes location. We placed a mobile order through the app, received a confirmation, and were charged on our credit card. However, when we arrived at the drive-thru, we were told that the order “didn’t come through” on their end.
Despite showing proof of the charge, the staff showed zero concern or accountability. The first cashier we spoke to was dismissive and passed us off to someone else without even trying to help. The second cashier simply told us that because he couldn’t find the order in their system, there was nothing he could do. Even after seeing our credit card charge, he claimed it was just a “pending” transaction and insisted we hadn’t actually been charged—clearly demonstrating a lack of understanding of how credit cards work.
He wrote down only my husband’s first name and the amount we were charged—no phone number, no order details—meaning there’s no way for anyone to follow up with us even if they do find the order later. When we asked if there was a manager or shift lead on-site, we were told there were only cashiers working due to being short-staffed.
We left without our food and were still charged. After looking online, it’s clear this isn’t an isolated incident—this kind of issue with Popeyes’ app seems to be common.
If you’re going to offer mobile ordering, the system needs to work—and when it doesn’t, your staff should be trained to handle it properly. Unfortunately, this experience was so poor that we’ve decided not to return to Popeyes again. We’ll be choosing other fast food options...
