My wife and I drove by a few days ago because we saw balloons outside and thought the place that was there prior had reopened. When we stopped, we realized it was actually a new establishment. We came back the next day, and since I had some hungry sisters at my house, we, unfortunately, didn’t get any photos of the food.
I had their chicken street tacos, my wife had the burrito bowl with asada, and we also tried their tiramisu. With the burrito, we received complimentary chips and salsa, which was a nice touch. The restaurant looked kind of like we remembered it, but they had added a nice sign to let customers know this is a new restaurant.
The staff, Mando and Dave, were very accommodating and helpful. They have only been open for about a week and a few days and plan to have their grand opening once they get their new sign installed on the outside of the building. They also plan to keep the drive-thru window to serve customers, which is wonderful.
Now to the best part: I have tried many Mexican restaurants and have often been disappointed; however, this location is going to be my favorite. They serve real, authentic Mexican food, and everything we ordered was wonderfully delicious. They offer a few different types of salsa—the green salsa is their hottest, and since my wife and I love spicy food, we gave it a shot. It was perfecto!
The medium salsa was also very good and packed with flavor.
Mando and Dave, thank you for bringing Tacos and Go to the area—we will...
Read moreWe first visited Tacos and Go in Lake Elmo on a Thursday, and the food blew us away. The rice had a fluffy texture with a Cajun undertone that was so well seasoned, we regretted not ordering extra. The beans were smoky and meaty—absolutely delicious. Everything came together perfectly in the burrito. It was incredible, and we couldn’t wait to come back.
However, when we returned a week later on a Wednesday, the experience didn’t match up. The tortillas, beans, and steak were consistent—no complaints there—but the rice, which had been a standout before, was now bland and mushy. The beans, too, lacked the smoky, flavorful punch they had the first time.
We were really craving that same fire from our first visit, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t there this time. Hoping it was just an off day, because your first impression...
Read moreI was fortunate to find this place while searching around in the area for a place to have lunch. I chose it simply because I was craving tacos and it turned out to be an excellent choice. Seems unassuming but the girl at the register greeted us and made sure we were aware of the quesadilla special available that day. We chose a steak quesadilla and the pastor marinated pork taco. It took a few minutes to receive our food because it’s made fresh to order and once we tried everything we were impressed and more than happy to wait for something that enjoyable. Ingredients tasted fresh and the 3 levels of hot sauce were a great accompaniment. I will certainly be glad to return and look forward to it. Keep up the good service and great...
