Bodega or Bodega's? How ever would be the proper way to pronounce it is irrelevant because this place needs no propreity. Eclectic and ingenious Bodega offers an ambiance and service that would only be found somewhere in New York or a place where the sandwich gods make their playground. Yet here in the south-eastern corner of Texas sleeps an imaginative concept that only a worshipper of said gods would or could proliferate into reality. A beacon of innovation in the food scene here in my modest little county of Brazoria.
All I feel is really need to be said is the sandwiches are far cry from your local subway in a big way.. ive eaten here twice so far and have not been disappointed. I can't really recall the first time but I have a muscle memory of sorts when it comes to food. Let me tell you the first time was no slouch however the second time was equally riveting. I ordered the "uncle fill" and let me tell you.... I felt like the cheesiest most savory fresh prince around. Made with Briket and covered in fresh (not soggy but with a bite) peppers and cheese. It made me sluggish and abominable but left mr with the exact feeling I was looking for Satisfaction and a buzz... yeah thats right just because a place may not have a liquor license doesn't mean you'll leave sober as a judge no no no. Here you have a wide selection of high percentage IPAs and lagers that will easily take the (if in moderation of courses) edge off. Also you might find a variety of chip you never...

Place looks like an old gas station. When we get inside, I had the feeling of being in a supermarket. So I felt a little lost, so I started browsing for the food. People behind the counter, kindly said hello and gave us a paper menu, the menu has space to check what you want to order. The counter was a glass fridge with delicious deserts and cheeses inside, everything looked fresh.
After we order our food, they told us to take a look around the shelves and choose our favorite beverage or chips and pay all together in the cashier. The variety of beverages is huge, if you need assistance or have doubts staff is around to help.
Inside there are only two tables. But outside there are plenty, you can pick your favorite spot. And in a reasonable time they bring your food.
Because the evening was a little chilly we tried the hot sandwiches: Uncle Fill and Betty White. Both of them very different even breads were different but so good. We also tried the Gulf Salad, it was fresh and it came with a citric dressing.
Music was not loud which made it possible to talk and enjoy the evening. I think a little more illumination, maybe a string of lights around, would make the place even...
Read moreI was excited to try Bodega, but I do have to say I was pretty disappointed. My husband and I tried here for dinner on 10/13/22 and the atmosphere was nice, I liked the overall vibe of the place, but the food was lacking. I ordered the Ryan I think it was (4 meatball hot sub) and my husband had the phil? (Philly cheese steak with peppers) we sat outside and the food was brought out to us. Both sandwiches were supposed to be serves "hot" but mine was barely warm, none of the cheese was melted, the meatballs were room temperature and there was hardly any marinara on the sandwich. My husband's sandwich came out piping hot, the cheesy was melty and stringy, steam coming off of the sandwich and was nice and hot when biting into it. Where his sandwich was lacking was flavor. Since the sandwiches were cut in 2 we decided to trade half of each of ours so we could try both. The meat on his did not taste seasoned at all, the only flavor came from the bellpeppers that were on it. The chip selection that was available was alright, but definitely sparse. I got the garlic and rosemary chips and those were really good! I will give it another shot in the future but for my first visit I was pretty let down, especially with the amount of great reviews...
