This is the first bad review I have ever felt necessary. I have spent thousands of dollars at Ulta stores over the years, I usually pay with a card but happened to have a $100 dollar bill and left my debit card at home, my total was $85.72 so I figured, no big deal. The cashier was very sweet but wanted to verify if the bill was real or not so she called a co-worker over to help. The co-worker was looking at the bill, I figured she was looking for the watermark (which I pointed out) which apparently makes me suspicious, she then checks the bill with the counterfeit marker and the marker stays the color it is when you write on the bill (turns dark if fake) then she asks (who I'm assuming is their manager) to look at it and the 'manager' asks if I have another form of payment to which I responded yes I have a credit card but expressed that I am annoyed about the situation, then she continues to say how they have some policy but then doesn't even say what the policy is! Please train your employees and managers what a watermark is and how counterfeit pens work!!! Why would you use a counterfeit pen if you don't even know how it works? May sound like a stupid or petty review to some, but I don't want to feel like a criminal because I try to pay with cash. Unfortunate because this location is so convenient, but I will be doing business elsewhere...

My mother has been through a very hard time lately, when CoVid hit, unknown to her children she became homeless she lived out of her car for months and struggled to find food or a place to clean her self up in... She was too proud to tell us and when I found out it broke my heart. I wanted to do something special for her for Motherās Day, something that would make her feel good about herself again. I scheduled a simple haircut with Alison at the Ulta Salon here in Lake Stevens. My mom was all dressed up, make up on and smiling ear to ear. When I came back down stairs to take her, she had tears in her eyes told me that Alison called just 1 hour prior to her appointment to tell her they would not have time for her and they were going to reschedule for another day!! On Motherās Day!!! I scheduled this appointment 1 week prior, they told her they didnāt have to ārush her haircutā then at least offer her a different time that day! Please understand This wasnāt ājust a haircutā it was a woman getting her dignity and confidence back on Motherās Day!! It was heartless on Ultaās part, the general manager was supposed to call us and never did... This is an extremely disappointing way to treat...

This time I only came in for shampoo and conditioner for my husband and I, but was thinking about how much Iāve been wanting a new foundation that isnāt dewy. I asked the employee behind the counter if they carried āwet n wildā, she told me āno, Iām sorry.ā But was very quick to help me finding something different. Her name was Andrea, 10 out of 10, go to her for all makeup needs. She knew my color match immediately, didnāt need to second guess herself. She asked me questions about what Iām looking for and suggested Nars. They were out of the one that matched me, but she quickly helped me order the right one online to be shipped to my home. Employees definitely either make or break a store, she makes it. Such a great customer service personality and clearly enjoys what sheās doing. Keep up the excellent choices in employees!...
